Hi, thanks for all the amazing theme ports! I have tried most of them and have a few favorites, this is one of them. Your guide for setting up custom themes was really concise and helped out. I have an issue with this one though, and it's something I've tried to look in to. I have installed the system metrics for 8.1 (I use these metrics for other themes too, they're nice) and I get this issue with the way the borders on the left and right of windows show up, and sometimes the round corners have a square outline. Sometimes I get some funny outlines on the taskbar, but it doesn't bother me much. I disable black glass enhanced with this theme. The border issues only effect the By Design theme. I'll attach a screenshot, you can see where the window borders seem off just under the part of explorer with the arrows and the search, and continue downward. Thanks again for your amazing work, makes Windows 8.1 awesome to use.

If i understand you correcly, when you apply custom system metrics for this theme and restart your PC, you get this windows frames error? Hmm do you have installed Aero Glass also?

Yes, after adding the By Design system metrics (also with the regular system metrics) the error occurs with the borders. I use Aero Glass with a license and followed your guide for installing custom themes.

I want to try this theme but have a question before I do - when you place themes in win/res folder as instructed, and the themes show up in personalization that you click to activate, is it as simple as just click the theme to activate, or does each individual theme you wish to use need to be treated differently? Like metrics for that particular theme and on?

Reason being this theme looks pretty darn impressive and I'd love to not only try it, but having working properly and not stuff up anything lol

Follow all the steps in this link::

Once you have done everything in this thread (Props to Lamia for the tutorial). You simply put theme files in c:\windows\resources\themes.

APPLY!!!!!

I probably didn't explain myself well enough ...

Here's pictures to explain what happens when I try different themes:

Zero-G Theme - Working perfectly
68920

By Design Theme - After applying
68921

Metrics used from extras folder for each theme, and instructions followed exactly. Zero-G works perfectly, but as I was originally worried about, simply "swapping" between themes causes issues ...

Works fine when I apply theme. are you sure your putting both the theme folder and theme file. Take a look below. These two files need to be placed in your themes folder. If you are then I am not sure why you would be having any issue's.

Yes the theme files are in the right place, if they weren't, how would I have got the Zero-G theme in the above screenshot working perfectly?

Here, just so you can see for yourself - the files are in the correct folder.

Circled: Red for files - Green for location.

Thanks.

Solved!

Only took me two days to figure out lol

What you gotta do is before you apply any theme, you have to revert back to the standard windows theme first, and then apply your new theme. After that, she's all good.

Also if anyone likes this theme and is using Firefox, an very nice matching add-on is: http://www.louis.hk/whitefox/

Just wanted to say after a clean Windows reinstall, the theme is now working perfectly! Thanks for your consideration. :Grim:
