You can download the Windows 10 October 2018 Update (version 1809) ISO
directly from the Microsoft servers without the Media Creation Tooland here are three ways to do it

Windows 10 version 1809 is finally available for download starting October 2, 2018
and Microsoft is now slowly rolling it out to millions of compatible devices around world.
However, if you want to start using the new features and improvements (https://pureinfotech.com/windows-10-redstone-5-version-1809-new-features) right now, you can install the new version using the ISO file.
In addition to using Windows Update, there’s also the upgrade option using Windows 10 ISO file.
The only issue is that when you use a Windows 10 (https://pureinfotech.com/tag/windows-10/) device to download the ISO from the Microsoft support website
you’re only given the choice to get the “Update Assistant” or “Media Creation Tool.”If you don’t want the extra steps

Just updated and found out there is a new dark mode for explorer now, it effects the navigation pane in all custom themes that use anything other then the default system metrics colors, you will need to add 2 new classes to the msstyles at least..

Unknown > DarkMode::ExplorerNavPane you will need to add the fill color and text color for the navigation pane in explorer to this new class in Dark Mode

Unknown > ExplorerNavPane you will need to add the fill color and text color for the navigation pane in explorer to this new class in Light Mode

This only effects custom themes that use a different color then the default Window color and WindowText color.

Not sure if there are any other areas effected by the new Dark Mode, hopefully any other new classes will inherit the correct properties, I will see about making some import scripts and an updated class map for the new changes when I get some time.

I just updated it and the DarkMode does not work properly. The nativigation bar is not in dark mode. It is still white, and the text becomes grey

Try and uninstall all themeing tools (ONE, them patcher etc.) Then Dark mode will more than likely work as intended, can't be sure as I have not messed with it yet.

As far as 3rd party theme issues go, we are just going to have to wait until GRiM or one of the others make a class map script for WSB, that is out of the realm of my knowledge, after that we can start updating the themes for RS5.

Just keep in mind also, there will be a cumulative patch released Tuesday the 9th for RS5 due to the task manager not reading cpu usage correctly, so who knows what else they will be fixing with it that could potentially break 3rd party themes again.

I've had enough already!! Just rolled back to 1803 until Microsoft can sort it out!! Its obviously upsetting quite a lot of things by sound of it! typical Microsoft!!!!..:sigh::amazed::Peace:
