Guide to Changing your Start Orb/Button

Guide to Changing your Start Orb/Button

    WARNING
ALWAYS CREATE A SYSTEM RESTORE POINT WHEN MODIFYING SYSTEM FILES

    Step 1.

Download the [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] context menu shortcut then unzip it and right on the reg file and select merge.

    Step 2.

Navigate to c:\ and Take Ownership of the Windows Folder.

    Step 3.

Download and install [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

    Step 4.

Now run Restorator 2007 and open explorer in c:\Windows

    Step 5.

Have your new Start Orb/Button ready on the desktop ready to use.

    Step 6.

In the left pane in Restorator you will see a folder called Bitmap, expand that folder and you will see a bunch of numbers and each of those numbers represents a Start orb that if clicked on will show you a preview in the Right pane, the main images you need to worry about are 6801, 6805 and 6809.

    NOTE
If you are using a larger dpi then the Default Windows dpi then you will have to change the larger start orbs to match your dpi.

    Step 7.

Now simply left click and hold on the new Start Orb/Button on your Desktop and drag it onto the relevant numbers in the left pane in Restorator and they will automatically be replaced with your new Start Orb/button.

    Step 8.

Right Click on your taskbar and select Start Task Manager and in the processes tab select explorer and then select end process.

    Step 9.

Now back in Restorator hit the save button and it will save your new Start Orb/Button and it will create a backup of explorer.exe called explorer backup.exe which you can restore back to default latter if you need to.

    Step 10.

Go back to Task Manager and in the menu select New Task (Run...) and type c:\windows\explorer.exe and hit enter, then close Task Manager and Restorator and your done.

xxrazor[/url]]This is the latest version of Restorator 2009, work on both x86 and x64

    Code:
    Deleted, not a real application
    cheers

Have you got a link to an official site verifying that this is an official Build?

Im not having a go or anything but when i saw your version and build date of Restorator_2009_4.0_build_1807 I went to Google and got [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] it just comes up with all share sites like rapidshare and nothing even related to Bome.

I thought this [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] was the official site for Restorator but they got nothing about a 2009 build they still got 2007 in the downloads section.

As i said Im not having a go or anything just I like to keep up to date on all my software but now confused.

Re: Guide to Changing your Start Orb/Button

Cheers for getting back to me and for checking for nasties,

It would just be good to see where it surfaced from thats all Ive been searching but still no luck and after all those scans I would say its pretty clean.

Not sure what you mean that it came in x86 and x64 versions though I just downloaded the Trial [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] and that option was never brought up I thought the app was universal so to speak and worked on both x86 and x64 but I could be wrong

But either way there both free for us and they both seem to work.

Did you use the hacked version of Restorator 2007, I have had the same problem before when I didn't install it correctly.
