Change the listening port for Remote Desktop easily using Mi
This article describes how to change the port that Remote Desktop listens on. You can use the Remote Desktop feature in Microsoft Windows to connect to your computer from another remote computer.
Fixit Change the listening port for Remote Desktop easily using Microsoft Fix It
Do note that the Remote Assistance feature in Microsoft Windows XP may not work correctly if you change the listening port.
To fix this problem automatically, download and apply Microsoft Fix it 50595 https://go.microsoft.com/?linkid=9759545. Click Run in the File Download dialog box, and follow the steps in the Fix it wizard.
To fix it manually, yourself, start Registry Editor.
* Locate and then click the following registry subkey:
* HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control\TerminalServer\WinStations\RDP-Tcp\PortNumber
* On the Edit menu, click Modify, and then click Decimal.
* Type the new port number, and then click OK.
* Quit Registry Editor.
* Restart the computer.
