The HUD RED theme is finally here and there are many new changes to the theme as well as a new red icon set to match, this theme is not just a simple recoulour, allot of the graphics were tweaked and redone to ensure that everything blended together to make a truly stunning theme, the same goes for the icons, every icon has been recreated and tweaked so that the reds are red and allot of the icons were designed again from scratch.

Every effort was made to make sure every part of this theme is fully usable and has been extensively tested to make sure you are getting the best product possible.

If you are not satisfied or find a problem that needs fixing please let me know and I will do my best to fix your problem.

The theme comes in 2 parts, you can purchase just the theme from the VC Shop, which comes with an easy to use installer that also includes a new logon screen and Theme Resource Changer to change the Start Button, Explorer navigation buttons and Control Panel Navigation panes.

The second part of the theme is posted here for free download and will require 7tsp to install, the second part of the theme includes all the icons, windows media player skin, Task Manager mod and many other changes.

There are 4 styles to chose from, 2 for the bottom details pane position (default) and 2 for the top details pane position, there is an aero and a basic style for both, The basic styles are also fully skinned and worth taking a look at and some people may even prefer it.

(Please ensure you have restored all your system files before installing the new one and although 7tsp does create a restore point it's still probably best to manually create one yourself beforehand.)

When using the 7tsp installer with the theme extras it will not replace any system files, it will only add the modifications to your existing files and at the same time make backups of your files, so if you do have some mods already it should not effect those, unless one of the mods you have is one of the things listed above.

Theme Installs and the Theme Pack Extras were tested on my x86 VM and my main x64 Windows 7 Ultimate machine and both installed without any problems.

Information

Very Important!!! You must enable the use of custom themes by either patching your system with Universal Theme Patcher or use UxStyle Core which runs as a service, either way will have the same result but UxStyle Core does not change any system files and is also update proof. [Only registered and activated users can see links. ] [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

WARNING

If you install the 7tsp theme extras and find you have lost your sound or if you are using a Creative Sound Card you will need to use Restore on 7tsp and then remove the pack from 7tsp, then open the 7-zip archive and in the resource folder you will see shell32.dll.res, you need to delete that file and then repack the theme pack using 7-Zip again, then load it into 7tsp again and reinstall it. For some reason Creative sound cards do not like any changes to the shell32.dll and there is no way to get around that, the only thing that you will miss out on will be a few icons and the copy delete animation mod, nothing major and you will still have a great experience without them.

Hey Grim! Been a while since I've been here so forgive me if you already did it... Did you make a Auslogics disk defrag , Steam or Calculator Icon to go with this theme yet? That'd be great! Thanks!!

I know my start button didnt change right away because I had another theme on in tuneup utilities, and have you downloaded the free icon pack? because I think that includes a start button changer and such

Hey Mr. Grimm, I'm back again to ask a question on the process of the theme I've installed. You know the Aero Peek program where if you hover your mouse over an item on the taskbar, it will show a mini pop-up preview version?

For some reason, when I installed the red version of HUD, it's not working. When I go to properties of the taskbar, it does say Aero is selected and I actually can't deselect it...it's greyed out. I'm trying to research online to see if I can find anything to help, but can you shed any light on this? I'm trying to uninstall everything and start over right now.

When I first installed it, it wasn't working then at one point it was, and I don't recall exactly what I did or when it happened...but I left it alone. Recently I had to do a system restore and that just screwed everything up -.-

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Great theme! How do I get the start button to change? I tried to use 7tsp but, when I chose change start button it brought me to my downloads to choose but, the folders are empty...

Did you install theme resource changer if not you need to install it then the start button will show [Only registered and activated users can see links. ]

indeed i did but, i feel i have done something wrong. the "windows explorer has stopped working" error has appeared. i reset that but, then re-ran 7tsp and it has come back. my windows are gray instead of transparent/black, i do have an icon for the windows button instead of the windows orb but, it is just the windows icon and it says "start". i think i am going to uninstall everything except my hud red purchase and start over unless there are any suggestions. thank you for your help.
