Cant say ive had that problem with a theme, but i did have a similar problem with one of Mr. Grims.

When i installed it, it locked out my preferences window and wouldnt allow me to change anything at all. I uninstalled and reinstalled a few times, but it didnt make any difference. I re downloaded and reinstalled fresh again and it worked. All i can think of is that something got corrupted on download with that theme somehow, not sure how but thats all i can think of. Maybe try that get another download and fresh install it again.
