    Un-compress your jpeg desktop wallpaper

Got this from How To Geek ......

By default Windows compresses desktop wallpapers in jpeg format. The attached registry hack will allow you to un-compress those images so you can add more life and vibrancy to your desktop.
If you use jpegs as your desktop wallpaper you can read the full article here to to see how to do this manually https://www.howtogeek.com/277808/wind...quality-again/
Or you can just download the file I have attached below that contains the registry hacks to both un-compress or restore Windows default jpeg compression settings.

Unzip the file, then run by right clicking on the registry hack and selecting "Merge"

After applying the hack make sure to reboot.

    Information
This only works on jpeg images, it will have no effect on any other image format(s).

    WARNING
If you are limted on the amount of ram your system has you may not want to do this.

Yep, that was new info to me too and it explains a lot, although I have stopped using the jpeg format for desktop wallpaper, Windows does not compress the png format therefore you get a crisper and more vibrant wallpaper.

Would 4GB RAM be considered rather small for using this, or will it be enough for this? My laptop has 4GB of RAM, thus my reason for asking, .

You should be fine, I was referring those who are running Windows on the minimum required ram.
