If your using x64 then you need to replace the one in SysWOW64.

Mr.Grim is really a nice guy^^
i dont know if we got pc pro´s here, but i found some stuff out because of my sound Problem..
i just post it here, maybe someone knows something and can help me to find a workaround for all creative card users that wnat to mod or style theyr windows..
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
could it be that i have to reregister the modified shell32.dll with regserv.exe?
if so, or if this sounds logikal, how do i have to to this..
why do i think this?
i found this in google...this guy has the same problem, and the guy who tried to help said:
In general, for a dll to be woven into the system properly, it has to be "registered" with the OS using regsvr32.exe. That would, generally, be done by opening a command prompt with administrative privileges and executing the command "regsvr32 dllname.dll" (omitting quotation marks, and where 'dllname.dll' is the name/extension of the dll to register, in your case, that would be system32.dll).
heres the full conversation: http://forum.notebookreview.com/showthr ... ?p=4774927
so, i did some research and tried to trace the footprints of the creative driver and programms that needs to run..
i also found out that creative sounds use powershell, and the shell32 ..
here is a pic where you can see what the creative driver is using..i dont really get what it says there, but hopefully here are people that can help^^

Oh god... even tho i might agree with part about creative support. But what exactly have moding of a VITAL system file with, have to do with creative support? They do not create drivers around YOUR moded shell32, they create it around ORIGINAL one that comes with windows. For more info what about Windows Shell and all the posibilitys moding can break, check MSDN (cant post intergrated link for some reason so here: http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/bb773177(VS.85).aspx ). But bottom line, you cant blame creative for something you break on your own... Im sure if CMSS3D is not working because of broken shell32.dll, there are other things that possible dont work and you just didnt notice them OR you might have problems in the feature.
so if any one knows something , tell me..im still on figureing out how to get around this prob....
just wanted to let you all know(that creative sucks)
