Google Chrome by far for me . . .

Firefox still has that clunky feel to it like IE, despite being a lot better then IE.

Chrome is fast and light and has the best tab system out there (Each tab runs as a separate app, and Chrome even has it's own task manager)
Plus the favorites page is awesome, and fully owns IE's.

Ive been playing with Chrome all night. They finally have there extensions up and running( or i just found it :P ). But i think i have found my new browser. The only thing keeping me from making it my default browser is transparency, i gotta have it. Other than that, I really cant tell a difference in speed between firefox and chrome.

At least you don't need to enable anything in Chrome to make it fast. ;)

Anyways, I added Maxthon to the poll and deleted Lunascape5, which in turn reset the poll (sorry!). Oh well though, I'm sure some of you have new votes to make since there are a lot of new features in all the browsers since the poll was originally made.

Firefox is best browser.Firefox is an internet browser that works with just about any operating platform including Linux, Mac OS X, and Windows. Its is Fast, Very customizable, Uses fewer system resources than most. This browser also offers integrated download management, live bookmarking, incremental find using the Firefox toolbar, anti-phishing protection, and a dynamic search system.

Been using Opera ever since it became a free browser. For me, by far the best browser. I don't need all the addons FF offers. I do have FF installed, with a few addons, but rarely use it. Opera is fast, safe, and never had it crash on me. Good enough for me :)

I have to say that the lack of mentioning Lunascape web browser really is surprising. You guys must not have heard or tinkered with it or you'd be just as obsessed with it as I am.

You have to love hybrid web browsers.

Chrome much faster than firefox and addons are gay. There is only one kind of addon thats useful and thats developer addons. Anything else there is much better ways to do it.
Firefox is like a rubberband or piece of gum that was spit out on a hot cement sidewalk and picked up again and stretched out and thrown back down on the hot cement and functions as so.
It's not that bad infact its second best. IE was better till version 7 came out. IE 6 was better than firefox just didnt have addons really. IE 8 is like microsoft decided it wasn't important to focus on there browser anymore.
So yeah chrome wins and I have the benchmarks to prove it and yes facebook games are better in chrome even though I dont play them more than 15 minutes a month. CHROME RULES I guess I am a google fan boy. Oh no I can't be because I hate almost all of googles other stuff. I hate picasa I hate there little sidebar thing I like google earth and gmail though. So yeah whatever. The numbers tell it all facts are facts and no the new firefox 3.6 is not faster than chrome although its better than firefox 3.5. daman

My vote goes for Chrome. I used to be a diehard Firefox user, but version 3.6 had so many problems when released and crashed so often that I decided to give Chrome a try again(had tried it in past and went back to Firefox). With the addition of extensions Chrome has for the moment surpassed Firefox as my favorite browser. There are many variations of Chrome if you search the web because it is open source and many people have built it not to call home. I can't wait for the Firefox 4 beta which is expected very soon. I hope Firefox's rendering engine rebuild will make Firefox start and surf as fast as Chrome.

Firefox is good. I don't know if the x64 version has an official release yet, so I'm using Aurora (FF7) and Waterfox (FF6 rewritten for x64). If you have an x64 OS you should look into Waterfox unless I'm getting slow on my Firefox release news. Opera would be a distant second to Firefox and it's derivatives IMHO.

hi i would have to say Chrome Because of it's Dev Tool's and capability of editing Dom Tree's on the fly and speed wise is faster But lacks in the app's department, then Firefox has great extension but lack in the Web Dev Department tends to be slow sluggish and has a few bug's in it's latest release that cause crashes, other's not to fond of then there is internet explorer not worth deleting worst browser i have used but that's my choice . so chrome is a winner for me.

I'll say this much. I use both. But for my primary hardcore browsing I use Firefox mainly because of the addons which Chrome simply does not have. I'm thinking of Video DownloadHelper, Treestyle Tabs, Pentadactyl, and even the Diigo or Delicious toolbars.

opera has tab stacking which is perfect for me

daveje9
January 26th, 2012, 03:03 AM
Ive just switched to FFv9 and also TB as my email client and am totally satisfied with each. Ive used safari, chrome, and IE9 (32 and 64) and while all are pretty good browsers I liked safari mostly for the 3D graphical theater-like favorites display, but of course there's an FF add on called 'Fox Tab' which not only does this but more.
FF 9 (and TB email) by default seamlessly adapts automatically to whatever VC theme I am using, and of course the layout is fully customizable. Im just sorry it took me so long to 'see the light'; and would advise any VC member who hasn't tried FF or TB to do so.

first post on the forum, WOOT!

Anyway; I use Opera as my main browser-
No bazillion tool-bars, Fast, efficient, and has all the add-ons I'd ever need (including translation (which doesn't involve page-refreshing), scroll-marking for long pages of text, and an awesome youtube add-on that disables the VEVO banners, stops advertisements, and also allows you to play/pause/close the video from a small compact menu.
Plus the tab stacks which I find incredibly useful, as well as mouse gestures (which, I can not even count how many times I've tried to do a mouse gesture in another browser.. ><).

Other than Opera, I use Comodo Dragon (similar to Chrome) as my backup browser, as it supports every add-on for GC + its own.

For me Chrome is the fastest but I use Firefox for dev and the best add-ons. I have Opera too and despite a few scripting issues on some sites due to compatibility I`d say graphically it`s the best.

It is updated everyday and is compatible with all of the persona and themes that are available for the release version of firefox. It's also great for customization. he bud if you download the theme in say chrome it will be the theme name with .jar file extension and then extract it with 7zip it should be in a manifest file there is part of the code there that tells fire fox what versions its compatible for just edit that
to the version your using then zip it back up with winrar giving it the .zip file extension once its ziped rename the .zip to .jar and install it to FF ok.

note some themes wit have parts that wont work due to changes in the API and UI ok.

Hi bro.. Just go into program files to water fox directory and drag it from there and put it in rocket dock then your good to go..
I had the same problem with comodo fire wall shortcut...
it has to do with the fact that rocket dock only supports 32 bit :Peace:

I actually did both big v. First I just draged the icon straight from desktop to dock. That did not work so I deleted it found it in directories and loaded it from thee, that did not work. thenI tried just opening it and it did not work. It was all screwed up. So I deleted water fox. Im going to download it right now and see if Peter Pan idea Works! Ill update!

Hi bro.. Just go into program files to water fox directory and drag it from there and put it in rocket dock then your good to go..
I had the same problem with comodo fire wall shortcut...
it has to do with the fact that rocket dock only supports 32 bit :Peace:

if that's the case with rocket dock then try the free version of nexus, it has no problems with 64 bit os's, and you can use any dock skin out there for it.

I cant really say witch is best in my opinion. I use two tho.
Google Chrome for media and social, and firefox for web development.
I dont add any addons to either as Ive seen many addons auto update for both browser and sometimes open some serious security issues.
IE I simply cant stand, and I dont use anything else.

Upon uninstalling it, even a System Restore on Windows couldn't recover the Firefox with all its settings.Basically it was monumental failure and a freakin disaster! I will stick with cyberfox as i have had no probs with it what so ever and it's very reliable and fast!:Peace:

I think waterfox has basicly become a dead project as the devoloper is not that skilled of a coder and can't compile the browser without a ton of errors.
I also had been a user of waterfox and had issue with getting rid of it, I had system errors everywhere after the unistall and ended up doing a reformat because of the leftover garbage it left behind in my registry.
Thanks to Toady we have a great reliable 64bit browser now, Cyberfox all the way :tu:

hey jimmy

i find chrome only yields good results on html5 benchmarks as a browser i find it quite slow to render page elements, i only use it for Google stuff as they made it so they don't work in any other browser, I have Google analytic's and under the section for page timings

62920

Chromes the fastest in html5 and the leading edge in html5 but seems lacking in the other departments. as where firefox\cyberfox lack in the html5 department but make up for it in most other sections.
Chrome still gets the highest rating on html5 benchmarks so it is the fastest there no doubt..

And internet explorer 4 is the best web browser lmao (just kidding lol )

Firefox has the most creative and effective add ons and Cyberfox uses your existing profile for beautiful 64-bit browsing perfection and there really is no comparison when you're talking overall customization possibilities that it possesses compared to Google's tracking leader Chrome or pop up riddled Explorer and Opera though fast doesn't always load pages properly so the winner and true open source victor imo would have to be Firefox's 64 bit extension Cyberfox which I recently discovered here from razorsedge's posts and I haven't been more content with a browser ever in the the history of web surfing that kept all my Firefox 32bit add-ons,favorites, and settings in tact when making the switch. Check and Checkmate, Cyberfox!

"Miles above?":shocked:Seriously?!lmao
Boy is that ever a reach and I would certainly have to disagree being an avid user of both Chrome and Firefox regularly for years now (Both configured to my ultrasurf1301 proxy port/server too I might add) and will always prefer the add-ons/plug ins available for Firefox a lot more than any of the one's offered up by Google's Chrome as it is new to the add-on game and is desperately playing catch-up imo!

Well, just to be sure---I installed the new FF today, and YEP! It sucked for speed, as always. Chrome? Like greased-lightning! Sorry bud, you'll never convince me.
But, like I had said, the CyberFox browser is without a doubt better than regular FireFox, and the guys have done a heck of a job with it. I keep it, with a couple of extensions, for my private-browsing.

I cant say that im much for add-ons.In fact,i dont use any.So for me,i would have to say chrome due to the speed. Its lightning fast! bout the only things i do on this computer is chat in fb or just surf the web reading material.I might download an occasional movie or song,or some software,or read the news but thats it for me..lol My only concern is privacy, but of course there are work arounds for that.I tried the cyberfox browser.Loved it.However,i only use 4 gigs of ram,so it really wouldnt do me any justice.maybe when i slap another 4 gigs in this, then i might try cyberfox again.(maybe). I find that chromes initial startup is unsurpassed.I have only seen ah couple quirks here and there with chrome. One being shockwave flash crashing intermintenly. But there are fixes for that too.I guess if yah use alot of addons, and your concerned about security then firefox or cyberfox would be for you.If yah just surfin the web,chatting,..etc,then i would prefer chrome.

I have used chrome since it was first released as beta or before. I love the fact it stores all my passwords, bookmarks etc. All I need do is sign in, and everything is as it should be. I don't need to remember anything! I used to spend hours setting up Netscape back in the day. I have used FF before, but I found it not to be intuitive, and was tired of all the crashes, and freezes, especially right after install. Plus it seemed like after every update all the extensions would not work. What a PITA. Perhaps it is not like that now, but my Chrome is really awesome, and fast.

Firefox Quantum was released yesterday, you ought to think about giving it a spin, it is quite possibly the fasted browser I have used, the new Firefox browsing engine is seriously fast. Hell I may never use IE again!
As for Chrome, well, it's Chrome, they have a fan base that is loyal, IMO though, I used it a while back but never really liked it, that was until I found out that Chrome had more security issues than IE and it's extensions where riddled with so many security holes it's not even funny, and just the plain fact that Google's telemetry far out weighs Microsoft's is reason enough not to use it.

Seriously though, give the new Firefox a run, I guarantee you will like it.

I updated my vote, I hope that's ok lol.

i like vivaldi for it settings page versus other browsers, but i truly hat the way they do their build numbers. it's based on chromium/ chrome and you really can't just at a glance tell how up to date it actually is compared to chrome, comodo, or opera.

in my opinion, opera is the best browser on planet Earth with a good bonus in the form of free vpn
