When altering or updating Windows icons, sometimes the 'IconCache' needs to be refreshed. this IconCache file can become corupt, you can normally tell if this has happened by random wrong icons being displayed for items or no icon showing at all (either 100 percent fully transparent or just a white square in the icons place).
There are methods that can fix these problems and I thought it would be a good idea to write a guide on how to deal with this problem should this happen to our members during customization.
Also, I don't know if other OS's make use of a icon cache but if they do and you feel like adding your bit to the guide, please post it here and I'll add it to the existing one giving you the credit for it (obviously taking 'Windows' out of the title too!)
