Decided to make a Virtual Customs System Logo Changer for myself and thought I would share :)

I supplied the .dll and the image.bmp within the zip ;)

Location:

C:\Windows\Branding\ShellBrd\ShellBrd.dll

I did not make these orb I found them on deviantart but have lost the bookmarks :( so all credit goes to the creators.

well sence alot of people have asked about this i thought i would make a tutorial.

use a resource hacker to open "shellbrd.dll" inside "C:\windows\branding\shellbrd" now go to "bitmap" and locate 1050 then save it as .bmp, open it in photoshop (or any other photo editing program) and put anything you want that fits inside that box.

go back into your resource hacker and locate 1050 again, now right click it and "replace resource" then save it as shellbrd.dll put it in "C:\windows\branding\shellbrd" and you're done.

Nice job, mate!

Would be nice if there were a way to change the background for the System Properties window.
That way users can install their own custom backgrounds.

I'd like to use a dark background so that I can make my own System Property orbs and logos
with glow effects and lens flares.

Here's my current System Properties "orb"...

...now imagine having the orb as a logo, or your favorite cartoon character, or
stuff such as the head of the Terminator T-800, or even an animated gif image of
something like the ED209 mech walking and shooting its guns off...
...the creativity would be endless!

Well, here's ED209 if anyone wants to play with it as a base idea for an animated orb...

I found this ED209 from a search online for an animated ED209.
I'll try to whip up a bigger and better ED209 rendition from a multi-jointed 3D model render
and I'll post it here for users to play with.

I know any of you folks can pull this off! :D
