Start Icon - Windows 7

Hi, I have installed various different themes and everything works on ever one apart from the Start Icon which stays as the default Windows 7 one.

Does anyone know why this does not change when I apply my theme?

Hi irTim and welcome to virtualcustoms,

The start button/images are located in "C:\Windows\explorer.exe" so if the theme you want to use came with the "explorer.exe" then you just need to rename your original "explorer.exe" to
"explorer.exe.BAK" and copy and paste the one you got from the theme pack to the same location and then Restart. ;)

If you feel you want to try and add your personal start button or any other for that matter like ones from this thread Here (http://virtualcustoms.net/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=16), Then you will
need to follow this detailed Tutorial which can be found Here (http://www.sevenforums.com/tutorials/23024-start-menu-button-change.html) or Here. (http://creativx.net/forums/general-tutorials/31-how-change-your-start-button.html)

Thanks for replying but when trying to change my explorer.exe to explorer.exe.bak, I get this error:

"You need permission to perform this action.

You require permissions from TrustedInstaller to make changes to this file."

You need to get permissions by right clicking on the explorer.exe and selecting properties, security, advanced, owner, edit, select your user name, ok, ok, edit, your name, full control, ok, ok. and your done.
