This is a custom Media Player to go with the Xtreme Red Theme, it can also be used on it's own without that theme, make sure you have closed Media Player and just rename the original dll and give it .bak file extension and paste the new one in, for x64 only replace the wmploc.dll in SysWOW64 and for X86 the one in System32.

Thanks mate, it was a bit of a mission and I had Generator to help me with some bits that I was having trouble with but we got there in the end, the only thing we couldn't change was the title in the Playlist but Generator hasn't given up on that one yet. lol

Take ownership of the original one and put.bak on the end.

Open it up in Restorator and change the version number and it should work fine or if you don't want to do that then make sure all your windows updates are done and then it should be the correct version number.

But infortunately, it doesn't work for me, i don't understand, I have Windows 7 x64, i placed correctly
the dll in syswow64, then i run WMP and it displays me:
"Windows media player is not installed correctly and must be reinstalled"

yup i had a same prob before..i just used the restotator to change the dll version or you can do what Mr.Grim said just to update your windows and it should work correctly :)

well i finally got it to work what can i say ................ speechless what a beautiful piece of work ,i particularly like the way the album art in the main library seems to float i think the use of red in the background gives it a greater dimension than if it was plain dark , i can die happy now cheers G

It depends on what OS your using, if your using X86 then put it in C:\Windows\System32 or if your using X64 then put it in C:\Windows\SysWOW64

You need to ownership of any system file before it can be modified, I find that the Take Ownership context menu shortcut (http://www.sevenforums.com/attachments/tutorials/28609d1253371523-take-ownership-shortcut-take_ownership.zip) comes in handy for most of them but some still require you to do it manually (http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html).

Maybe try renaming the original to .bak on the end then see if you can put it in there, also make sure that media player is not running or any services that are connected to it like sharing.

amazing theme... only issue i have (win 7 64bit) is that some of the text is black and i can't read it. any ideas? i have tried changing my windows theme also.

Sorry it's meant for use with dark themes like Xtreme Red that have the lighter coloured text.

I don't think you can, you need to have the RTM for this Skin.

well this really sucks (not your team but my skills at changing themes)
I runned the program so I'm owner of my own thingies, then I runned an 'elevated command prompt' (run as admin right?)

Now it says that I need permision from E8400game\jellesmid ....that IS me :(
Damn windows 7 for not giving me full control...I'm advanced user :)

Sorry I'm a bit confused at what you are doing, all you need to do is take ownership of the original file and give yourself full control, then rename the file .bak and then paste the new one in there.

Then all you need to do is start the program as normal, so I'm not sure why you are running elevated command prompts or have to do anything else.

well in an earlier reply you had a link with instructions to give yourself ownership, I tried the command prompt version, but now windows is telling me that I have to give myself permission, but I already did that with the command prompt, (and command prompt says that I have full right for wmploc.dll)

so I don't understand it :(
(I never changed themes or modded anything in windows so I'm kinda newbie on this, edit: changed the theme already, lolz

in order to take full ownership of a file, just following these steps:
1. make sure you have the take ownership option, get it here [link=:30d7pbqe]http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/[/link:30d7pbqe]
2. once you have navigate to the file, right click and select take ownership
3. now right click again and go to "properties", select the "security" tab, select "advanced" button, click on the "owner" tab, click the "edit" button, select whatever admin account your logged on with and click "apply"
4. now right click on the file again, and go to properties>security and click the "edit" button this time not the "advanced" button. Now you should be able to select your admin account and check the "allow full access" option.

now you can do whatever you want with the file, delete it, rename it, replace it, whatever. Just make sure the file is not being used by another program when you are following these steps. So if you are trying to replace the wmploc.dll file, make sure windows media player is not running.

ow and Mr. Grim, is there any way you can change the dark blue font in the media player? its kinda hard to read some of the options like "Play", "Burn", "Sync", etc. Dark blue font doesnt go that well on a dark background.
