Midnight Glass Nature Theme

This is a mod of my Midnight Theme that I made for use with Full Glass, theme still looks good without it as well but has some bits that you can only appreciate with it on, theme also come with an optional Nature Themepack I put together to go along with the theme, all wallpapers are 1920x1200 and all were resized and modified in Photoshop.

To have your taskbar centered like in the image above.

All you need to do is unlock the taskbar and right click on it go to toolbars/add new, and them make a new folder somewhere and call it blank for example, then select that folder for your new toolbar.

You then need to right click on the new toolbar and select view text/title and deselect those 2 options now repeat all those steps(you can use the same blank folder again) and place the blank toolbars on either side of your main Taskbar group and slide the taskbar to a central position.

Once you have it where you want lock the taskbar again (note that it move a little when you lock the taskbar so some fine tuning may be needed), and now you have a centered Taskbar.

If you like you can also make the blank folder hidden to remove it from view.

Taskbar will not display middle bar if you have your options set to never combine.

Always combine, hide labels should be selected.

Also if you are using any extra Toolbars you need to make sure they are displaying small icons, but only if you have them all on a single row, if you have your taskbar expanded to 2 bars it will display normally again.

But only one bug, I think...

In the top of the start menu left to the user pic, the colors look's a little bit cut.

Is that the look of the theme or is it a little bug?

Yeah your right, it does have line there, it's because of the way the right side gets resized and because there is a gradient in the colour you get that line there when the images don't match up right.

You will need to edit the explorer.exe to use the custom user pic frame, if you know how to change the start button then you should have no problem because it is exactly the same thing you need to do.

Does anyone know why this theme and only this theme seems to cause my computer's performance to slow down? I occasionally get a message from windows saying my current color scheme should be adjusted for better performance. My graphics are not great, being that they are integrated but with 3gb of RAM which i never max out i find it strange that this theme causes my computers performance to slow. i have used other dark and glass themes in the past and never had any issues. Its strange and annoying since I love this theme but the downgrade in performance i see at times makes it hard to work.

How do I install this theme? I installed the Dark 7 theme no problem, however this one will not show up under personalize. I'm running & x64 ultimate if that helps

ok, i tried messing around with the font colors but didnt work..must be in the theme or so, cause on windows standart theme its working and i can see the list in Teamspeak...

Yes in this theme is the control panel suppose to be all clear. I have a white line where it says the adjust computer settings and I have tried everything to make it all clear like the explorer. Also have the white on the left side of the Control Panel\Appearance and Personalization screen. I really enjoy your themes was wondering how to get these two panels full clear like the rest. All you need to do is run Full Glass this is located in the optional extras folder.

im having problems with the Theme Optioanal Extras can you tell me what i have to do it install the stuff from this folder please

Replace the Midnight Glass.msstyles in the Midnight Glass theme folder C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\Midnight, you will need to have another theme selected and you will also have to log off and log on again before it will let you replace the file.

I have a MP skin I am using on Deathstar if you like, if not I can mod one of the others if you prefer.

My Photoshop and some other apps decided they will take some of the theme's formating, resulting in a black skinned "drop box" (you know, that kind of a menus you get when clicking on "File" or clicking with RMB in Windows) with nearly unreadable content as well as pitch black text boxes... I cant currently post a screenshot since I stopped using it because of that, hope you can imagine it. So question is: is there a way i can forbid those apps from using that formating? Or is there any way to change those colors to gray for example, so its at least readable in the apps? I wonder if i am the only one with this kind of a problem -_-

In a word, No! Gimp has a similar problem which is really annoying when you're trying to find your way round it for the first few times!

The applications in question understandably use common controls in their programming which means the only way to affect them would be to hack the Windows system files. Unfortunately nobody has yet discovered where the text settings for this (and many other) aspects of the UI actually live. Microsoft, it seems, doesn't want you to have a dark theme! So you either have to live with it or find something less problematical.

But i guess that would mean too much work and who knows how would it look. :( Anyway thanks for the answer, I am going to cry a little in the darkest corner of my room... alone... without a theme I love... That was because there was a new shell32.dll in one of the recent windows updates and it's not very common, I think there have been 2 updates to it in the whole time 7 has been out, so yeah I know it's a pain but it does not happen very often.

Icons are not installed with the themes, you must install those after, the easiest way to do that is using 7tsp with the icon packs here http://virtualcustoms.net/forumdisplay.php/850-7tsp-Icon-Packs

Probably tried about 20 others and had no problems. I was actually due to format, so I went ahead and formatted last night. Thanks, that is one of the things you have to learn to live with if you are going to use a dark theme, you can change the window colour in the advanced appearance settings in the colour personalization menu.

hello;), how to install it please, I tried to install VGLASS but he wan't install all of the theme, the transparency of windows is ok, but he put the windows basic theme for the rest.

my dll are patched but I don't know where to put the shell and mui files in Midnight folder :ashamed:

Love this theme, but the Uxstyle doesn't work for some odd reason. I had to use Universal Theme Patcher, but I was hoping to avoid this as I'm leery of patching system files.

thnx. the buttons look fine to me they were designed to look that way and as for the drives to look the same you need to change your icon veiw settings which is at the upper right of the screen in a drop down menu from large icons to tiles for the same look

I don't know if anyone ever answered this for you but I can. It isn't a bmp or png or anything. It is simply a color gradient. You can edit it through resources but I have recently come across quite the useful tool.

Habe Windows 7 eXtreme x64, 2x Radeon DH 6970 im Crossfire, i5 3570k, 16GB RAM, Samsung evo SSD 500GB.
Bei manchen anderen themes funktioniert aero, auch fullglass. Zum Beispiel geht VS se7en, Dark Pearl VS, BlackmetalFG und auch das Standard Win 7 aero, aber weder win 7 eXtreme aero, sun V2 oder Midnight oder midnight glass funktionieren. Es bleibt einfach ein Basisdesign mit Kontrast. Ist alles gepatched und der Resourcechanger ist installiert. Habe es mit 3 verschiedenen AMD CCC (12.4, 13.9 + 14.4) ausprobiert. Habe es ohne crossfire probiert. Habe mehrmals den Leistungsindex neu berechnen lassen. Habe die Registry Werte unter HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Windows\DWM\ überprüftund den Desktop Dienst uxsms neu gestartet. Habe im Wartungscenter automatisch nach Problemen von Aero gesucht. Habe eine andere Windows 7 Installation auf anderer Platte ausprobiert, alles ohne Ergebnisse. Aero ist aber fundamental für dieses coole theme. Für Vorschläge wäre ich dankbar.

Fixed:
Finally I've found the solution to my problem:
If you have options for disabled, like a bigger dpi-fontsize enabled, the windowdesign is automatically set to Basic design. If you set all these options to standard, you can jump between Aero and Basic design by hitting Shift+Alt+Print. Then finally aero and fullglass is working.

Again a lot of thanks to Mr Grimm for this nice theme, I am now very happy with it!

Excuse me kind sir, but how does one go about utilizing the Windows Media Player Black Skin?

I tried taking ownership of both files in win\sys32 and syswow64, backing up old *.dll's and moving the x64 dll's into said directories (even tried moving x86 dll into sys32), but I get an error saying it's not the correct version.

Thanks for this awesome theme pack btw! 3 themes in one! I would rename Nature to Nature2 tho, since there's already a nature theme pack that comes with Win7.
