As far as I know, it is not possible to change this AVI-File because it has a digital signature...

So, if you replace it with an AVI without this signature it won't start anymore...

But I found this tutorial several times...

So something must be true with it...

Because I like the original animation...

Created using Adobe after effects. used 35 mm camera.Null objects. In 32 Bits per channel and motion blur enabled. All are 3D layers. Most wanted font from http://www.dafont.com/mostwasted.font
this is created for youtube, the one which to be used is a bitmap of size 200X21000, here is the procedure to replace it. Microsoft doesn't recommend it. But i'll do what is not recommended \m/

For anyone looking for a solution :

- First, Use ResHack with %windir%\system32\bootres.dll file
- Extract the RCData resource.
- So you have two files, one *.rc and another one *.bin
- Rename the file *.bin into *.wim (not win!!)
- Use 7zip to extract your *.wim file
- In the extracted files you have an xml
which describe the second file which is the boot logon bitmap animation!!!

Now you can modify the logon animation! But be carefull, to have a correct xml description file!!!

After modifications, do the inverse procedure, with a backup of your original bootres.dll file.

I advise you to try on a virtual machine
before!
