How do I reduce the width of the taskbar and leave a solid color instead of transparency of the windows

For the windows you need Windows Style Builder and you will find the locations of the images here-
Windows & Caption Buttons > Aero > DWM Window > Frames > Normal
edit the images to have a solid color.

Even with clever image editing ,as far as I know the taskbar has a blueish transparency to it, so I don,t think you can reduce its width.
