- Completely Exit out of MSN Messenger
- Right-click MSN Messenger in Start Menu
- Select "Properties"
- Select "Compatibility" Tab
- Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for"
- Select "Vista" in the drop down list selection
- Press "OK"
- Complete
Now launch MSN Messenger and you will notice the icon is now in the Notification Area ..
instead of the Task Bar which is annoying and cumbersome especially in Windows 7 when there are a lot of programs and folders open..
