Title says it all. When I start up Windows 7, the standard Windows Aero set of cursors load. However, when I go into Mouse on the Control Panel, it says my custom set of cursors is loaded despite the cursors being the standard Windows Aero ones. They only change to my custom cursors after I press OK. Is there any way to make my custom cursors load on startup?

I'm not sure that their appearance in the Mouse control panel applet actually means that they are loaded. Just that they were the last set loaded using the applet.

The difficulty in getting custom cursors to be set as the default is why I use CursorFX http://www.stardock.com/products/cursorfx/downloads.asp

The free version includes the facility to import graphics and create the necessary theme file so why not give it a go?

I figured out how to import graphics, but it will only take .png files. My cursors are .cur and .ani files.

You can use IrfanView http://www.irfanview.com/ (also free) to convert .cur files to .png and it may also be possible to break down .ani files into individual .png frames (but can't promise as I haven't used IrfanView in a while!) for rebuilding in CursorFX.

I kind of got my set of cursors to work, but that's only because I figured out how to use the .inf file to install them. For another set that doesn't have a .inf file, I'll try your suggestion. Thanks.
