n a matter of few weeks Mozilla released the 3rd beta build for the Firefox 4 browser. With this update they have introduced Touch Support for computers which use Windows 7 Operating System on their Tablet PC / Touch Screen laptops. So now users can take full advantage of a multi-touch with intuitive browsing experience for their systems.
This feature will be a treat not just for the users who like to browse the web without the use of mouse and also give developers an opportunity to provide a great browsing experience to the users.
Experimental support for touch events has been added in Gecko 2.0. These allow Firefox to track the movement of the user’s finger on a touch screen, monitoring the raw touch events generated by the system. Although touch events are based on — and work similarly to — mouse events, each event includes an identifier that allows Firefox to track multiple fingers moving on the screen at the same time.
Along with multi-touch the Firefox updates include the 10 new added languages which brings the tally to 30 languages support so far and New JavaScript values for a better and fast browsing experience.
Apart from these major changes rest of the features remain as it is, just like the earlier builds this one includes the Feedback Add on to report any sort of bugs directly from the browser. This Feedback Add On is working exceedingly well so far and allow them to track the bugs reported by the users. Those who already have the beta installed on their system will get automatic updates.
