7Conifier is a small but wonderful tool to quickly change the default icons of programs present in the Taskbar and Start menu in a jiffy. It just takes a few mouse clicks to transform your Start menu and Taskbar.

Download the 7Conifier zip file and extract the same to get 7Conifier folder. Run the 7Conifier (.exe) file to select and apply new Start menu and Taskbar icons. On the first run, you will asked to backup the default icons.

By default, the current version, comes with two icon packages. Of course, you can also download and add new icon packages to the default list. To add a new package, download the icon package (should be the right one) and place it in a special folder called “Packages” present in 7Conifier folder.

This tool works fine on both x86 and x64 versions of Windows 7. In case if you are getting a similar error that we have showed in the above screenshot, make sure that you have items pinned to both Taskbar and Start menu.
