Network taskbar icons

My Network taskbar and volume buttons (bottom right next to clock) really suck!! I am using Win & 64 bit, and using wireless. The 4 stregnth bars are white as well as the battery icon. Very dull. Is there something I can do to change this? Any Help will be greatly appreciated.

agreed, anyone out there can help us with this? the plain white icons are just plain boring.
