A Microsoft Fix It for the lazy, which tells if you are running 32-Bit or 64-Bit Windows!

Type system in Windows 7 start search.

In the results which appear, click on System Information, you will get information about whether it is a 32-bit or a 64-bit based PC. Alternatively, you could also open Control Panel > All Control Panel Items > Performance Information and Tools and click on View and print detailed performance and system information.

If under the Control Panel listings you click on System, you will get to see here the System type. That is whether its a 32-bit or a 64-bit Windows. Alternatively you can also click Control Panel > System and Security > System to open it.

But if you are too lazy to do even this … Microsoft has introduced a Fix it 50525 for you!

Just download it from KB827218 and run it …

http://support.microsoft.com/kb/827218

it will open the appropriate Control Panel window for you, where all you will need to do is move your eye-balls a bit to see whether its a 32-bit or a 64-bit operating system!
