--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
WSB 1.6 Ideas:

•• Goto have the ability to use the same path as difftool (<ButtonStyle>.<1>.<1>)
•• Goto have the ability to use DirectUI like paths (BUTTONSTYLE, 1, 1)
•• COLORIZATIONCOLOR:INT show color rather than integer / Use color picker
•• Font replacer (Replace font that matches x with y)
•• Font preview in property box
•• Color replacer (Replace color that matches x with y)
•• Image alpha tagger1
•• DWMWindowIsChanged::Bool2
•• Font picker automatically opens upon adding
•• Color picker automatically opens upon adding
•• When opening a theme copy Shell to %temp%
•• Open help in new window button.
•• On Test/Apply reuse last DWM Colorization Color.

1On import VSB will add a value into the image to represent whether or not the image has been alpha fixed. When export then imported again VSB will check this value then either import by its default function or import and skip the alpha conversion based on this value.

2WSB will check if the end-user has modified any classes in DWMWindow. If not the stream will be ignored on compile preventing pixel alignment errors.

Yeah i've seen that before, has been on the wsb site for a while. WSB 1.6 was supposed to be out by now, i've been told, but it isn't, not sure why.
According to Panda X its gonna have some kick ass features once it's gonna be out, so i just hope it'll be out soon :)

lol doing another old thread bump, so is 1.6 ever going to come out?
Been alittle over a year and i see people are still waiting

just curious, one feature i would suggest while im at it is a better sorting system for the Style Hacks so its not an overwhelming list

Yeah it will. The delayed was caused by the fact that Ave's usually busy and I don't know much C++. I have since become better at C++ and started updating it myself with the help of Ave.

Here's the current changelog:

Windows Style Builder 1.5 -> 1.6 Changelog (31 Changes)

Build 1.5.3 Pre (10 Changes)
[FIX] Fixed bug where if you cancel out of the 'open existing theme' dialog it would load aero anyway
[FIX] When opening a new theme, the window no longer goes to the background (Currently a workaround, will need to be fixed properly later)
[FIX] When opening a new theme, the window is no longer partially greyed out, instead while the theme is loading the whole window remains grey as previously intended

[ADD] Initial Windows 8 support
• Added multiple stream support (Ave)
• Added Windows 8 XMLs
• Added option to switch to Windows 8 Mode (Debug)
• Added initial version of the Windows 7 to Windows 8 importer (WIP)
• The PVL, DESKTOP, and IMMERSIVE resources are now created when saving / testing
• The AMAP is now loaded and written to the compiled msstyles (Ave)

[CHG] Control Preview window no longer shows automatically when testing (based on user feedback)

Build 1.5.2.2 (2 Changes)
[FIX] Temporary workaround to prevent compile failing on first try. If the same circumstances are met that caused it to fail previously it will try one more time, which means two compiles, so it could be slower. Hopefully a better solution can be created later.
[FIX] Bug causing WSB to crash when preview glyphs and glyph related parts.

Build 1.5.2.1 (4 Changes)
[ADD] Show margins in the preview area

[CHG] Made the tree view transparent for a cleaner UI

[FIX] Fixed bug that caused WSB to not show Themes folder for users without AveStyle
[FIX] Fixed bug that caused the scrollbar on the properties list to not show

Build 1.5.2.0 - Changes since 1.5.1 (13 Changes)
[ADD] The Import image / Export image dialogs are separate from the Open and Save file dialogs.
[ADD] When opening or saving a theme a Windows Style Builder tree is shown in the navigation pane. The CustomThemes folder is for those who own AveStyler other wise it's not there.
[ADD] Import image dialog now has options to skip alpha checking and/or remove magic pink.
[ADD] Exporting images now asks to overwrite.
[ADD] The status bar now shows information as to what the selected class, part, or state is for. This information was for the previous help dialog before WSB 1.5

[CHG] The status bar is now shown at all times.
[CHG] New Stop Testing icon.

[FIX] The x glyph in the search box is now shown again.
[FIX] Importing an image no longer blanks out the preview area.
[FIX] Resizing no longer blanks out the preview area.
[FIX] Testing now copies your theme's shellstyle.dll instead of the default Aero shellstyle.dll

[UPD] New UI layout (WIP)
[UPD] Includes 1.7.0 XMLs

Can someone tell me how I go about updating my copy of WSB?

I've been all over the WSB site and forum and do not see anywhere to obtain program updates, looks to me by looking at the above post, the current stable release is 1.5.3, the copy I purchased and installed is currently 1.5.0.0 and I would like to update it if possible. I'm not interested in the beta until that version becomes stable, just want the most recent stable release.

Thanks in advance

The current stable is still 1.5. All versions above it are beta builds. When a new stable version comes out an email is sent out. The reason there's a huge gap between versions is because Ave has been too busy to work on it and I've just started programming on it, and I'm learning as I go since I'm still new to C++.

Thanks for the reply Panda X, I look forward to the next release when it comes out and I am sure many others here too. Windows Style Builder is probably the best $23 I have spent on the internet in a very long time :nerd:

building themes for Windows 10 is a joke because NOBODY will help other themers so they can build their themes correctly and Ave WON'T update the software for Windows 10

All of your themes are cool but the theming tutorial is terrible. It is missing important things and the software is not updated correctly for winodws 10. I cannot change the start menu graphics or the text color in start menu items for use with Star Is Back because windows style builder dosn't display any of the start menu options.

I also cannot find how to change the color and style of the right click menu on the desktop and taskbar in windows 10 but all of the themers here seem to do it without problem but they never respond to my request for help.

Classic Shell doesn't have custom taskbar integration like SIB has which we need for custom themes, Without SIB's custom taskbar integration adding a custom taskbar to custom Windows theme in Windows 8 / 8.1 and 10 becomes an entirely separate process.
Besides "user friendly" only depends on the user. I have used Classic Shell, matter of fact I am forced to use it at work, I hate it and would take SIB any day over it.

oh, sorry for the misunderstanding . I have fully integrated classic shell into my custom themes using Ghidra and VB,little coding skill but what i cant do is get Stylebuilder to recognize the class maps. (Since I dont fully understand them myself) LOL but its a hobby/continuing work in progress.84195 84196
