Easy File Replacer

Easy File Replacer is freeware which allows you to replace two similar files of different names with one click. It also takes ownership of the file that you want to replace so that you can replace system files too.

How to use:

1. Run the tool.

Copy the file that you want to replace with another file.

Right-click on the file that you want to replace with the copied file.

Select Easy File Replace.

Click Yes.

Now the file that you selected will be replaced with the file that you copied.

Hi Brother,

this file replacer does not work in win 8 1 1 Is there a new one for win 8 1 1?

It seems to me that explorer exe is digitally signed, I replace the icons in original win 8 1 1 explorer exe with Restorator 2007 and when saved and I check the properties the signature from windows is lost! So when I replace the file it will not start with a message that the program can not run on this system, not compatible.

In fact I did not replace the original file - find it to hard to do in 8 1 1, I named the new explorer as explorerx exe placed it in the windows directory and then changed the entry point in the registry - HKEY LOCAL MACHINE - Software - Microsoft - Windows NT - CurrentVersion - Winlogon - Shell - changed the name to explorer exe

Can you please advise me what else I can do to replace the icons in explorer exe and keep the properties unchanged and to replace explorer exe with the new one.

Perhaps I can send you my new explorer exe to see the properties. (don't know where to upload it here)
