Hi All,

How can we move and apply a theme to another machine where WSB is not installed?

Thank you.

hi nelly :)

If what your asking is just a normal theme like you get here to be applied to another computer you don't need wsb installed to apply any themes.

Just make sure the theme files are patched on the machine you want to put the theme on to allow 3rd party themes if your not sure how to do that there is a tutorial here : http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/31634-How-to-patch-your-theme-files-to-enable-3rd-party-themes (http://virtualcustoms.net/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=5665)

If the theme you are using has been set to use theme resource changer you can find a tutorial for it here to install it if you want to use it : http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/31635-How-to-use-theme-resource-changer (http://virtualcustoms.net/viewtopic.php?f=108&t=5666)

for the theme itself you just copy the theme folder and the .theme file as I am assuming you have it installed on the machine you are using already so you take the theme from c:\windows\resources\themes and copy it over to your other machine then just go to personalization in the control panel and select and apply your theme :)

Thank you for your reply :)

Sorry for not being so clear, but my concern is that i have already customized a visual style file using WSB and want to apply that customized style to other machines.
What are the required steps to do that?

Thank you.

I need to know that myself. I can't figure out what I'm doing wrong.
Added note:
I can zip it and transfer it but it doesn't show as I designed it in WSB. Is there supposed to be anything in it but the .theme and, is separate folder, .msstyles file. I noticed that other themes have Shell/en-US/explorer.exe/explorerframe/wallpaper/etc folders do I need them? If so do I use the files from my pc?

Is there any reason you can't just put the theme in a zip file and transfer it to another machine?
