How to turn Aero back on?

Hey guys, after playing a game windows decided to make my theme windows basic, but whenever i change it back to a third-party theme it has all the colours, but is in the style of windows 2000, without the start orb etc. I've tried stopping windows desktop manager and restarting it, but this hasn't worked, and neither has a restart. Any help is appreciated :)

Have you updated your Windows 7 to Service Pack 1? If so, you will need to re-patch your system. If i remember correctly its only one file though that sp1 has replaced

Try that first and let me know if it works ;)
