I am new to the site and somewhat new to computers. I saw some pretty cool desktop themes and I was wonder if all you had to do is download it. I downloaded it and then took it off of WinAce and nothing happened. I didn't know where to post this, but I hope I can get some feedback. Thank you for your time and hope to hear from you soon.

hi bud and welcome to virtualcustoms :) first of all to use third party themes you hafto patch 3 system files and the tutorual here viewtopic.php?f=277&t=707 (http://www.virtualcustoms.net/viewtopic.php?f=277&t=707) , will show u what you need :)

and if u look here viewforum.php?f=277 (http://www.virtualcustoms.net/viewforum.php?f=277) , there are some videos on how to apply themes in different ways :)

Thanks that really help :smile:

Now here is another problem:

Hey, I was trying to download the UniversalThemePatcher and once I downloaded it, it goes to my WinAce. Then I click on UniversalThemePatcher_20090409, then I click on UniversalThemePatcher-x64.exe. One I do that it minimize the WinAce, like its loading then WinAce comes back up. Any suggestions on how to fix the problem? Thanks for your time.

what is winace ? like winrar if so just drag it out the file onto the desktop

Have no clue what winace is but just extrac the file from the downlaoded rar Right click the exe and run as admin This should give it the elevated permission to run with no issues

Ok. I got all the stuff downloaded, but not when i do the themes it does everything but Icons. I downloaded the Dark7 Ultimate theme and i got the background, the dark windows, but i didn't get the different icons and my start bar is the same. Anyone have any ideas?

Icons will normally not come with a theme you have to install them separately. What theme did you try installing. And did you also install theme resource changer since most of the themes here are setup to use it these days
