It's about time I got some screens up here I have been plugging away for the last few weeks like mad on these things lol

So This is my entry tentatively titled Rockstar

This theme comes in 4 versions orange with black and orange with grey, blue with black and blue with grey

The msstyles are completed I am working on the extras start orb, explorer frame buttons, nav panel all that jazz right now :)

I also have to give a huge thanks to DevilsBrand for making me the aimp skins to match my start menu devil thanks a mill man you did wonderful work on these skins and of course the Master Grimmer for his advice and tweaks thanks a mill bud :)

Well let me start by saying wow guys you have all really pulled out everything you have such fantastic works of art this round. Roby quite a theme you are doing there you have improved so much, dh i see you are doing something I have not really seen out of you yet fantastic is all i can say, paulie I am loving the transformers theme my boys have seen it when i was looking at it and are ready for it on their pc lol, Skulls all i can say is wow very impressive, razor that theme you are working on is going to be right up there with the best themes on the net, bigcyco where are you get some damn internet already and get back in here lol, and finally grim i know your theme will be hard to beat but you have some stiff comp this go around so it could be anyone this one i see. First let me start with the frames god those frames were horrible but i actually got them to work like i wanted finally and with the 3d look of the caption buttons and explorerframe buttons it pulls it all together quite well if i say so myself lol. o.k. nofx now that you have all of us drooling over your theme i have one question. i noticed in your last explorer screenshot you have the menu bar on the bottom of the explorer window. that really does make a lot of sense since it doesn't get used all that often by most users. my question is simply is that something you hacked in windows or is it a tweak anyone can do?

that is just how i have my setup most will have the preview pane on the bottom and the menu bar in its normal place i just seem to like it at the moment until i feel like changing it again lol changing that stuff is in the shell32.dll and can be done in restorator

the difference between the menu and power text is two shades and the power has a drop shadow on it and the menu font is letterpressed but still debating on if to make the shades the same color or not and add the drop shadow so that gives the appearance of blur because they are different now the start orb trust me the pic dont do the orb any justice this orb was made completely from scratch by the misses and infact a very unique orb so i am sticking with it.

@Nofx. There is so much going on in that theme i can not even comprehend it all. So much work it really is a work of art. Menus look really good with the effect in the background.
Although...... have to agree with chopper13 on the Start Orb.

I know your missus created it and it is a nice start orb in itself but it looks out of place in that theme, almost alien infact as if you have replaced one theme with another and the start orb has stayed from the other theme. Just my opinion, im no themer/artist and can not even create a simple image, but for me it stands out as something not quite right. Comparison would be Heavy industrial swithces in the rest of the theme then a fleshy alien button. Nice Start Orb but not in that theme is my opinion.
In the same vein the start menu top left looks wrong too for some reason, something is standing out in that corner aswell, maybe its just the image viewed from the website but something deffinatly doesnt look quite right. It could be the small window type effect thats slanted slightly. Not sure if you were trying to make it look as though that corner was slighty bent backwards but on the flat background it doesnt look right, if thats what it is supposed to be doing.
Finaly the icon at the bottom, (CCleaner) overlapping the images of the start menu looks really out of place, if you could make it all fit inside the image it would look loads better.

Anyway just trying to be constructive for you, those small things kind of spoil all the rest of the hard work you have put into that theme. Might want a second oponion from an artist and not me but thats just what stood out to me.
Other than that the theme looks great, as stated above there is so much detail its hard to comprehend it all.

Harvey that clock looks killer bud. But looking back a couple of pages the start menu looks just a tad off with menu button and power button to me the lighting looks off. Like it coming from 2 different directions like each button has a different light source. At least that the way it looks in the screenshot to me. Which i know can look a lot different than the actual theme might

Thanks for the nice comments guys, Gor that theme rocks bud, looks like your having allot of fun making it, I always find once you have a good concept the whole theme just flows, nofx that is looking really nice bud, as usual your creativity is really shinning through with this one.

Big I think you should stick with the ladies theme, it looks more mature then you hot chicks style themes. I am also pretty sure that Eva is referring to the system tray when she mentions the tray not looking so good, I think she is correct as well, you need to make it all flow together a bit more, looks a bit like a mix of different styles there at the moment, you need to start making a mockup design in PS first so you have a vision of how you want the overall theme to look rather then just changing things as you see them.

Really great effort from everyone though and I am very proud to see such talent here at VC, keep up the outstanding work guys :smile:

Well i took some of the advice that some have said and did some modifications on the start menu and it looks quite a bit better and also did a new start orb that fits the theme a bit better. I also been working on the basic stuff of this theme so here are screens of the improved start menu and the way some of the basic is looking with taskbar and start menu so far i am still working on the frames for the basic look.

Criticism can be hard sometimes, especialy when you have worked hard to do whatever it is you have done, but then again choosing the right criticism to follow can be harder still. Looks like you have made the right choices though and it realy does look loads better now m8.
It Sounds like your going to try cater for a couple of tastes in this one aswell which is always good. 1 With the more agressive look and one with a more clean calm look to it. Did i understand that right ?
