If You got AMI bios, then You can forgot about O/C

Post here screenshot from Everest, AIDA64, Speecy, HW Info or something like this "Motherboard" or "Bios" Section

I haven't really done much overclocking lately and what I have done is only on Intel Dual cores, as far as I know AMD are not very good for overclocking but that may have changed since I was last messing with them.

with AMD phenom II x4 940 you'll be have 3.3 or 3.4 max stable .. with my m4a79t -deluxe and phenom II x4 945 the max for a stable system is 3.5 ( and V-core .... dangerous lol ) but with the 945 BLACK EDITION is different you can more up directly multiplier and no just FSB frequency

if you want O/C an amd cpu take a black edition ;)

in your bios , A.I tweaker page

you have a line " A.I Overclocking " (if I remember correctly) you put on manual and after you'll have the multiplier and cpu FSB free

you mustn't put directly to 3.6 (for exemple 3.1 , 3.2 etc)

for 3.6 ghz you'll need about 1.45V for v-core ( or 1.42), here too, do with a gradual increase

if you want more stability you can change NB and HT voltages to have the good settings for your config but I can't tell you how exactly to handle with care.

i don't know if with an air cooling you'll have a resonable temperature ( all my pc are water cooled ).
