CLASH OF THE TITANS IV

PRESENTING FOR WINDOWS 7......
HUD
44183

This is my new Premium Theme for Windows 7 and also my entry for the VC comp Clash of the Titans IV

It's been another great comp at VC and we have had some fresh new talent as well this time round and they have been showing amazing stuff and with some being their first ever themes I am expecting great themes to come in the future.

Check out the Comp here to join in the fun and look at the upcoming themes

Every effort was made to make sure every part of this theme is fully usable and has been extensively tested to make sure you are getting the best product possible.

If you are not satisfied or find a problem that needs fixing please let me know and I will do my best to fix your problem.

The theme comes in 2 parts, you can purchase just the theme from the VC Shop, which comes with an easy to use installer that also includes a new logon screen and Theme Resource Changer to change the Start Button, Explorer navigation buttons and Control Panel Navigation panes.

The second part of the theme is posted here for free download and will require 7tsp to install, the second part of the theme includes all the icons, windows media player skin, Task Manager mod and many other changes.

The HUD theme extras can be installed or uninstalled using 7tsp found here (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/28733-Tool-Se7en-Theme-Source-patcher-v0.3-Build-3003?p=164065&viewfull=1#post164065)

For a Tutorial on how to use 7tsp have a look here (http://www.xptsp.com/board/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=80)

Features:

There are 4 styles to chose from, 2 for the bottom details pane position (default) and 2 for the top details pane position, there is an aero and a basic style for both, The basic styles are also fully skinned and worth taking a look at and some people may even prefer it.

When using the 7tsp installer with the theme extras it will not replace any system files, it will only add the modifications to your existing files and at the same time make backups of your files, so if you do have some mods already it should not effect those, unless one of the mods you have is one of the things listed above.

Theme Installs and the Theme Pack Extras were tested on my x86 VM and my main x64 Windows 7 Ultimate machine and both installed without any problems.

Very Important!!!

You must enable the use of custom themes by either patching your system with Universal Theme Patcher or use UxStyle Core which runs as a service, either way will have the same result but UxStyle Core does not change any system files and is also update proof.

Universal Theme Patcher (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/27909-How-to-Apply-Custom-Themes-in-Windows-7)

UxStyle Core (http://www.uxstyle.com)

If you install the 7tsp theme extras and find you have lost your sound or if you are using a Creative Sound Card you will need to use Restore on 7tsp and then remove the pack from 7tsp, then open the 7-zip archive and in the resource folder you will see shell32.dll.res, you need to delete that file and then repack the theme pack using 7-Zip again, then load it into 7tsp again and reinstall it.

For some reason Creative sound cards do not like any changes to the shell32.dll and there is no way to get around that, the only thing that you will miss out on will be a few icons and the copy delete animation mod, nothing major and you will still have a great experience without them.

Hi!

I hope I write a good place if you do not apologize!

Around to find a solution to two problems.

- When using Small Icons, task bar disappears in half, which is unusual!

- Programs on the left show the subtitles, it's disturbing that the background is not a color.

Maybe something to start with them?

The answers thanks!

A day into this theme and I am loving it. Couldn't wait to get home from work to see it again.

A couple of questions someone might be kind enough to answer. In Mr Grims picture of the theme, in My Computer the HDD icons say "HDD" but in my them they are "HD"
Also I use Chatzilla and after installing this theme I have noticed the area where you type the words in, the font is a very faint grey colour making seeing what I type almost impossible. It wasn't like that before, and I don't know how to change it.

Other than that, this is without a doubt the best theme I've used. great colours, great design and I'm VERY happy with it.

Cheers.

The taskbar for small icons was meant to look that way, it was a design choice I made and I thought it looked good that way, it was good way to be able to shrink it down to a nice small size which is something I think allot of people like.

Again the text on top of the window there was another design choice I made, I have always disliked the glow effect in aero so I have always removed it in my theme, however after pointing out your grievance I have come up with this idea which I can send you if you like.

Glad your enjoying the theme, sadly with dark themes it is very hard to get a perfect balance with the text as some programs will use the windows text colours differently, the only thing I can suggest is that you change the windows text colour to something else you prefer in the advanced appearance setting in the colour personalization menu.

Hope this helps

The taskbar is possible that the thickness of the original size, and small icons?
To solve this for me?

Had a little test with this and I gotta say that this theme is just utter fantastic.

Only niggle I had is that I prefer to see both the date and time, not just the time in the tray clock (or whatever you call it...) Is there a way to change this or shall I just stop being so picky and live with it? :D
If it helps - I didn't install the theme, instead I ran the exe and copied the theme files from the temp folder into the windows theme folder.

Anyway, yet another fantastic theme from you... maybe try getting a job at Microsoft and show them how to make a theme? Looking forward to the other colour variations of the theme anyway!

You would have been better of running the installer fully as it will ask you if you want to install theme fonts and many other things, the basic theme will be applied regardless but there are options in the installer for everything else, if you don't want to run the installer again then just open the fonts folder inside the theme and run the fonts.vbs then your system tray will be the way you want with date and time as I prefer it too lol

Yes they are all fine Ryan. There wasnt actualy a problem with them in the first place. It was due to a conflict when overwriting some other application one or two of us were using previously. Before you apply the Icons it is advised that you remove any pre existing ones first to prevent any problems.

July 22nd, 2011, 10:41 AM
Yeah as John mentioned, the problem was having another 7tsp pack installed beforehand that was causing the problem, best to use restore on 7tsp first before applying the new pack, I have also updated the pack to change more of the control panel icons, here is a preview of some of the new icons

i also faced prob with your 7tsp pack ,then i delet some system files from your pack and also added control panel icons myself :smug: but my wmp skin didnt change ,i didnt remove wmploc.dll.res file from your pack ,any solution ?

First make sure you have downloaded the new pack and then restore all your system files to default and then install the complete pack again and it should work fine, if your still having problems with wmploc.dll not updating just make another 7tsp pack containing just the wmploc.dll.res file and see if that works, other then that the only other thing you can do is replace the resources manually.

Dont install correctly on my comp, dont have changed logon, dont have changed icons, dont patched uxstyle, dont install theme, says something about missing files and yes, i purchase this.
Windows Ultimate x64 Slovak
Temp and tmp is redirected to %SystemDrive%/Temp, not %CurrentUser%/AppData/Local/Temp.

I personaly think you have release this as 7tsp pack as previous, which worked OK, not a some kind of your own installer, computers not the same as yours. Thank you.

Turned off Avast and Zemana, running as administrator.

The installer just installs the theme basics, the 7tsp extras pack that you can download for free will install everything else, I also stated that you must have your system files patched to use custom themes and provided the links, I asked fixit if I could use 7tsp for my premium themes to install but he wants it purely for free for all users and did not want me to use it for my premium themes, that's why I made the installer myself for the theme, the installer should be unpacking to %CurrentUser%/AppData/Local/Temp. so I don't understand how it could be doing otherwise unless you manually selected another location.

If you want me to give you hand then set up team viewer and I will help you.

The theme has it's own installer and the icons and extras are all installed using 7tsp, if you haven't patched your system files to use custom themes that all you will have to worry about, 7tsp will detect if you have anyway and will patch the system files when you install the extras if they are not already, it should be very straight forward and not take any more then 10 minutes to complete the install, if you do have any problems just let me know and I will give you a hand

Hyperdesk themes change allot of icons in your system files so probably best to uninstall your system before attempting to install the 7tsp extras

Got this theme a few days ago to replace my older version of Re-Energized Nucleus. It is amazing, though I had a few problems at first with it. I tried to install it on both my laptop and desktop (both 64-bit) and it rendered both systems unusable. I had to reinstall Windows, but it was well worth it in the end. I am extremely pleased with this, and it has been something I've been seeking for a very long time! Now my computers look extremely high-tech!

Oh, one last thing. There seemed to be an issue with the 64-bit version of the 7tsp HUD Topshell theme pack, specifically with explorer.exe not running correctly and crashing when browsing through the documents. I could never correct the problem, but it throws a red flag because that theme pack is smaller than the x86 version, and normally x64 is bigger in file size. Is this just something that was wrong with my system, or can this be duplicated? I was hoping to use Topshell instead of just the main file, but either way I still love it! :greedy:

At the top of the page in the shop where it says My Account, click on there and then it will show you all your orders on that page and it will have a view button on the right, click on the view button and that will show you if the download link is available and the link should appear on the right side of your order.

Try restarting your computer and then reapply the theme in your personalization menu, I have had this happen myself sometimes when changing themes, seems that somehow the theme service gets disabled, I am using uXstyle core to patch my system so not sure if it's just a problem using that or it happens with universal theme patcher as well.

OK, I know that it is the "extras" install through 7tsp that is breaking my "reactor" button in the start menu. I install the theme and the button works fine.. I have installed both "extras" packs and both break the button.. when I right click on it for "properties" nothing shows up in the drop down where the power button options should be...

JohnDay
July 28th, 2011, 12:52 PM
This is a known issue, what you need to do is use restore on 7tsp before installing any theme extras. For some reason there is a conflict between previously installed theme icon packs.

John is correct, if you have installed the complete OS Pack from Razorsedge previously then you will have to use restore on 7tsp before installing the new pack, as for the search bar removal, that was a necessity rather then a choice if I wanted to have the start menu look as good, removing it is part of the process of removing the blur on the start menu and that enables me to have more freedom to change the shape, add drop shadows and so on, you can still use the search bar though, just open the start menu and start typing and it will still search for you, you can also still paste text into it by just pressing ctrl + v

Thanks for the reply guys, I will give that a try for the "search" issue, just to be sure.. you are saying the search field is still there, it just isn't visible?... As for the "reactor" button, I used 7tsp to return to stock before installing... here is what I did..

Returned my WMP to stock setup manually
Uninstalled Hyperdesk (restore windows 7) through the Hyperdesk options
Installed the theme (looks great!)
then installed the extras with 7tsp...

Was there another step that I needed to perform?

Thanks again

Looks like you didn't patch your system first, make sure you installed Universal Theme Patcher and all your files are patched still so you can use custom themes, as for the issue with explorer closing after using 7tsp well I am not sure whats going on there, maybe the best thing to do before anything else is to run the complete system file restore on 7tsp and then patch your files with Universal Theme Patcher, then restart and apply the theme and make sure that's all good and then create a new restore point and then try 7tsp again.

If you need any assistance then install Team viewer and I will give you a hand.

When you ran the installer it would have asked you if you wanted to install the theme fonts and you must have skipped that one, you can just run the installer again and make sure you select yes for the fonts or if you open C:\Windows\Resources\Themes\HUD\Fonts and run the fonts.vbs that will install them for you, you may have to apply the theme again to take effect or restart explorer.

You can change the window colour and the window text colour in the advanced appearance settings in the colour personalization menu, once you have got a preferred balance just save the theme again in your personalization menu so you don't loose your settings if you change themes.

Hey Mr Grim,

This is my third theme purchased from you and my favorite so far.

Freakin awesome!

Question: Is it possible to modify the text/input areas so that all the applications we use are not caught in dark fields?

It gets real hard to read or input text.

Can this be done?

Even if we can just modify the text to a brighter color of white like #FFFFFF, it would be more visible and user friendly.

I want to keep this theme on permanent.

Please advise Mr Grim

Mr GRiM
September 7th, 2011, 03:34 AM
You can grab that icon here http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/27612-Custom-Browser-Icons the best way to replace it is probably to just put it in your firefox folder and make a new shortcut using the custom icon, with all the firefox updates lately it will just keep on being replaced, or use restorator to replace the icon in the exe but again you will need to do again after every update.

Looks like the bar at the bottom is still from the By Design theme pack, probably a good idea to use restore on 7tsp first and use the restore all modified system files option, once you have restored all your system files you should run Universal Theme Patcher again and then reinstall the HUD 7tsp pack, or you can just try replacing the wmploc.dll with this one.

Note that this is the wmploc.dll from the SysWOW64 folder on a x64 OS, I am pretty sure it will also work in the shell32 folder on a x86 OS

at first I thank you for this brilliant design. Love at first sight.

In the starting menu there is no search-Bar in display; but for example when I type "paint" it begin to search; is it possible to make the bar visible?

Now my actual question: Is there a Design for firefox which fits to "HUD"?

Dr4cos

Note:

I had a small problem with the installation. My system is Win7 Ultimate x86. So I took "7tsp_HUD_Icons_Theme_Extras_Topshell_x86" Icon set. With "7tsp" installed, after restart the "Explorer" was damaged and doesn't work anylonger. With "win7_disk" repaired. Then with "7tsp" systemfiles restored and patched again with "UniversalThemePatcher". Same problem again after new try to install the icon set. Then I tried "7tsp_HUD_Icons_Theme_Extras" and now it works. Lord only knows where the failure is. May be a bug or anything else.

@ Scetchy You need to use Universal Theme Patcher to patch your system files, there are links on the first post at the bottom.

Glad you are enjoying Mark

It beggars believe that folk are prepared to spend this much time to create complete transformations that look this good. When I saw it, I had to have it and am 98% elated with it. I have questions rather than complaints. Outlook 2007 is very difficult to read now, with a battleship grey background etc. I would like it to remain stock. Also the Start Menu is way to transparent for my ever changing backgrounds. I have 400 1920 x 1080 backgrounds that change every 10 seconds. More often than note the Start Menu is unreadable. When a button on the right of the All Programmes button is pressed, the menu goes solid. That I like but not the level of transparency before. Actually I have just noticed Word and Excel are the same. How can this be changed please. I feel at odds to whine at such skill, but I need to be able to read the screen too. Thank you

Mr GRiM
September 14th, 2011, 03:20 PM
For office the best way to get around that would be to change the window colour and windows text colour in the advanced appearance setting in your colour personalization menu.

Not allot I can do for the start menu though other then making it again with less transparency, if it is a really big problem for you I can do it but I am pretty busy right now so it will not be for a little while so best to remind me if I don't get back to you on it.

Hi Mr GRiM, I appreciate the quick response. I will gladly accept the transparency espeically if it requires you to actually remake something. Is it possibly to have a patch that changes the transparency between 1 and 10 for example? It is certainly no priority, but the offer is appreciated. I am looking into the personalisation menu now. Many thanks for the headsup.

Going well, the theme is done and all the extras aside from the icons, I managed to loose the PSD's for half of the icons, don't ask how, but anyway I am having to remake them all again, so some of the icons will look a bit different when I am done but should still look just as good I hope.

For some of you who are running Win7 x64 (mine is Ultimate), and have had issues with the "7tsp_HUD_Icons_Theme_Extras_Topshell_x64" file causing explorer.exe to ass-out on you......
I had the same problem; after applying the Topshell pack, I couldn't browse my hard-drives, my Downloads folder, etc., without explorer funking-out and restarting.
Here's what finally worked for me: I first used the 7tsp gui to restore everything back to before the proggy was used, rebooted twice, then installed the regular "7tsp_HUD_Icons_Theme_Extras".....Of course, rebooted the 2 times that requires. After that was all finished, I ran 7tsp and just cleared the program of the previous pack, loaded the Topshell pack into the program, and UNCHECKED ALL of the options in the interface and Settings......ALL of them, except the one that says "Patch The Current System".
After rebooting twice, I had the Topshell action showing fine and dandy (the details-pane), I had the cool overlay in my logon-screen user-image, and the extra system-icons that didn't seem to be in the regular pack. Everything was there, and old explorer.exe let me click away and open any folder or drive I wanted!
This might not work for some, but it did for me. To be sure it wasn't just luck, I re-did this (after resetting things through the 7tsp proggy) twice. Worked each time.
BUT! Yes, there's a but here!----If you try to run the Topshell pack a THIRD time, over the top of the prior fix which I've explained above, and add checkmarks to the extra-options, your explorer will hate you again. So, don't do that.
It seems to be that a .dll which gets patched (when you check one or more certain options in the Topshell-pack) somehow gets corrupted or not registered correctly. But, the way I've explained above works, I suppose, because that particular option isn't modified. (It was already patched anyway from the regular HUD pack).
I hope this makes sense to anyone with the problem. Try it.:superman:

Mr GRiM
September 15th, 2011, 06:38 AM
interesting, there should be the same stuff in both packs aside from the topshell one having the details pane on the top, I have only ever tested the topshell on the VM, I'm not a fan of it myself, it's a strange thing to happen though, I know the files are patched differently thought on x86 and x64 that's why there are 2 packs but the patches were from Razorsedge and are the same that he uses in his themes so I assumed they were good, from what most have said it was more a problem of installing the pack on an already modified system that caused their problems.

YourNumbr1Fan
September 15th, 2011, 07:27 AM
On my previous system, I had no problems at all using the Topshell.....But, on this one I'm using now (reformatted recently), I got the error. Fresh-install, updated past the Service Pack1, then patched with UniversalThemePatcher-x64......Just like I always have done in the past.
Perhaps running SFC Scannow might have fixed it, though? I should've tried that first, I suppose.
Yea, running the regular pack, for me, on this system, didn't even install all the icons either; most were there, but mant control-panel images didn't install. Plus, the "volume" image and "network" image didn't show on my taskbar......
But, after I over-installed the Topshell (with options unchecked), most came through (all except the network icon).

Update: (09/16/2011) Reformatted last night, without all the CRAP and drivers such crappage brings along, and the Topshell worked just fine!-----
So, that means my problem was caused more than likely by a rogue driver or screwy .dll file.
I later installed, one at a time, my "crap" (all except a few things I don't need and had no business putting on my 'puter to begin with), and so far everything is wonderful and bright with little puppies and angel-songs!----(sigh....) Man, the demands we place on our poor lil computers....Would it be any wonder if some day they all turn on us and fry us? LOL!47199

Isn't that the Side-Panels plane? Did you put a checkmark in that option when running the 7tsp icons and extras pack? Or does the Installer for the HUD Theme ask if you wish to install them?

Yeah, i think so too... it should be the side-panel. I didnt put a checkmark in it till now I've tried to use the "side-panel-image" from the "shell32" folder and enabled the checkmark.
Its still "white".

I can't imagine what the probleme should be. Also I'm trying to find a solution, but i can't find it and I've got no ideas left right now.

On the one hand, you wonder "Did I do something wrong on install?", and on the other "Have I gotten a VIRUS?!"------Most times, it's some driver or corrupted .dll, though, m8. Also, it could be that at some point you've altered the windows-color settings in your shell?.....Perhaps you should just run the scannow command, restore everything to defaults, re-patch your system, then re-install HUD.
Or did you already go through all that?

The side panels are installed with the theme, nothing to do with 7tsp or the extras, if there is a problem it will be with Theme Resource Changer not working right, try running the theme installer again and just make sure you select yes for everything.

Hi Mr.Grim...

I found a little bug if I click on bookmarks button (using "Personal Menu" firefox add-on).

When I click on the button; It open the windows in "cascade"; when I move the cursor and the windows are closed, parts of windows are overlaid. I made some screenshots:

BEFORE WHEN THE WINDOWS OPEN:

AFTER, WHEN THE WINDOWS ARE CLOSED:

Honestly I'm not sure that the problem is with the theme. However, the problem appeared after installing the theme. Obviously the problem has a minimal impact. I just thought might be of interest. I hope I did well.

I was having the same problem as Caipal. Where the side panel image wasn't working. Had to format and reinstall(grrr) just to find out that it was a simple fix(for me at least).

Problem
Launch folder windows in a separate process (enabled)

Solution
Go To Control Panel > Folder Options > View Tab > then (disable)uncheck Launch folder windows in a separate process.

Hopefully that works for you. I would like to re-enable this option(assuming i am correct). Should I expect a fix for the issue?

My PC has been running perfectly until this morning. I no longer have the HUD mods in the left hand side of a window, in places like control panel etc and further more and rather inexplicably I have lost access to the SteamApp. When Steam is running, and I some much as touch the icon in the notification toolbar, the icon dissappears. As far as I can see everything esle appears to be ok.

There is no question this theme is superb and a work of art, but my PC does not get on with it. I MUST uninstall it all. I have no time for things to stop working as I work on this PC as well as play. Short of an OS install, Mr GRiM how do I remove ALL traces of the theme and the other changes made please? Secondly can I gift this theme to someone on the forum, anyone on here in fact who may have more luck than I? I don't expect a refund nor am I asking, but rather than waste it I figured I could just give it to someone. With the greatest of respect, Outlook no longer works properly. It fails to start or only runs in Safe mode, Steam is still dead, and no my HDD light hasn't been off in 24h. My PC is heavily maintained and most of that is automatic. I have hardware monitoring, 30min backup intervals (sensitive data), Cache management and registry management running 24/7 and I think the combination is not amused. Sad as I like the theme a lot. I may use it on another PC if I build one but not this one anymore. Advice on removal and gifting much appreciated. Thanks

First to uninstall the 7tsp pack run 7tsp and select the option to restore modified system files to before 7tsp was used, there is no need to uninstall the theme though as it does not change any files and you can just select another theme in your personalization menu at any time.

If you do wish to uninstall the theme though the theme needs to be deleted from C:\Windows\Resources\Themes, delete the HUD.theme files and the HUD folder and that's pretty much it, the only other thing that is installed with the theme installer is Theme Resource Changer, that allows themes to change the start buttons, control panel navigation panes and explorer navigation buttons to change with the theme in memory instead of having to edit system files.

If you want to uninstall Theme Resource Changer open C:\Program Files and delete the folder called Theme Resource Changer, you may have to move it to the desktop as the file will still be in use but after a restart you can then delete it, there will be a couple of left over registry entries from Theme Resource Changer but they should not be a problem, if you want just open the registry editor and search for {F791A188-699D-4FD4-955A-EB59E89B1907} and delete that folder.

So I bought the theme, intrigued by the design, and installed both the installer and the 7z file. I went from the standard Win7 Aero theme to this theme, however it looks very little like the pictures and I'm wondering what's gone wrong. My windows are not rounded, I have a Windows classic looking taskbar now, and have no start orb - just a menu button. I can return to the Win7 standard Aero theme, and these items come back (orb, standard Aero toolbar, rounded windows, etc) - but any selection of this theme produces the same result. The attached image is the result of following all instructions/installs. 47503

Any further guidance would be appreciated, as this is not what I was paying for obviously.

I've always used your Midnight theme untill I found this one which is even sweeter!

Got two small problems however.

1. My shutdown key in the Start menu isn't responding. Neither is the arrow thing next to it for the Shutdown / Sleep Mode / Log Off menu.
2. When I change my default font using a reg editor the fonts change only I can't make them Wide, Bold or Italic. It doesn't respond to it and remains on Default (Eurostile).
I want the font exactly like it was in the screenshots, and Midnight uses the font as well, and that did work like it should using the reg command:

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\FontSubstitutes]
"Segoe UI"="Eurostile Wide"

The font isn't even the most important thing so don't put too much thinking into that issue, only the Shutdown not working does bug me haha.

Hey Mr. Grim, I've had one of your free packs for a year and I figured I'd update and pay this time :p

I love the video of the pack and had to have it. I just downloaded and installed the main pack and the extras...but the Start button, field, and bottom status bar are just a dull gray...they didn't load properly. I already have Uxstyle installed, I ran the installer for the main pack and hit 1 for everything and chose the topshell as the theme and it worked it all out and everything is ok, except for the start button etc.

Please halp! :(

Ugh this is bugging the heck outta me. When I loaded up Universal Theme Patcher for x86 it only showed the bottom 2 files. The themeservice(dot)dll was completely blank. I loaded the other program it came with for the 64 version and it DOES show the themeservice file and shows that it is already patched. This is after I tried to reload the HUD theme. My start menu is still identical to the picture in my previous post.

*edit* When I run the 64 version it says that the themeservice is already patched even after I revert back to the original windows 7 theme. Same with the uxtheme . dll. It shows as being patched (before HUD) and I can't patch/restore it. the x86 can be patched and restored at will.

Also despite restoring 7tsp the Logon screen is still the HUD version...not the original. Even after the double reboot.

But I thought with the Uxstyle download that I didn't have to do the universal theme patcher...so now I've done both...or would that mess things up? I'm at work now so just trying to do this between phone calls. Hit me back ASAP :)

You need to use the correct version of the theme patcher for your version of window. if you are on a 32 bit system then you will need to use the x86 version or for 64 bit system use X64 version. I had a simluar issue awhile back i had to restore the patched files using universal theme patcher then reboot and reapply the patches then i was good to go

If you have uXstyle Core installed then you don't need to use Universal theme patcher and it probably wouldn't work well having both, I had problems with uXstyle core after installing SP1 though, for some reason I often went back that way shown in your screen when changing themes, however when I tried to uninstall it I had an error message saying that it system files were not in their original form and it wouldn't let me uninstall it, so I ended up just going into the services and disabling that service from running, then I used Universal Theme Patcher to patch the files and haven't had that problem since.

So if you have installed SP1 forget about trying to uninstall uXstyle Core just disable it in your services and use Universal Theme Patcher, make sure you are only using the version for your OS, do not try using the 32bit (x86) version on a 64bit (x64) machine, make sure you only use the 64bit version, if your unsure what you have then open the system properties by right clicking computer and selecting properties and look at the system type.

IT'S ALIVEEEEE!!!

TY so much Mr. Grim. This thing looks spectacular!

I went into the control panel and uninstalled the uxstyle process ad went back to the patcher and it STILL says that everything was patched already and I didn't have to do anything. So I rebooted one last time, made sure the patcher still said everything is good to go, then went back into the HUD installation and did it again. IT CAME OUT LOOKING LIKE IF AWESOME WAS A SPREAD AND I SLATHERED MY DESKTOP WITH IT.

New pix below. Thanks so much!!

Please make a light version of your theme HUD. I'm sure will be a success and I am the first to buy. Thank you.

Hey, how do I uninstall / change the Ctrl + Alt + Del screen?
I've tried restoring using 7tsp / change theme using 'Personalize', didn't work.

Any solutions? :(

Well, It won't be very useful if I posted a Screenshot of my issue. i guess since everything looks 100% normal.

Fixed the font thing already. Had to add a few more register lines to the script and it works fine now.

However, my shutdown key and arrow is still not working. Also, when I click the properties option for my start menu the option to change the shutdown key's behavior is greyed out and I can't click it nor change it.

Have to shut down my PC with the power button now and can't use sleep mode anymore cause I can't get into the menu for it.

For the rest everything including sounds and icons are working fine.

FYI my Windows isn't of the legal kind and prepatched for full theme support by the dev. Version is Windows 7 Ultimate x64 with all current updates except SP1 since I was too lazy to re-crack it and just getting all the updates does the same as SP1 anyways.

When you switch to another theme in the personalization menu do you still have the problem?

Yeah I do. The Shutdown key and the arrow are blank and don't respond.

Also, in the Properties menu of the start menu the option for changing what the buttons do is also greyed out and unusable.

OK so it's not something on the theme that has caused the problem, if it was then it would only happen when using that theme and not with others, best thing to do is a system restore or run sfc /scannow to restore any system files to default, then run Universal Theme patcher again and see how you go.

Greetings,

I recently purchased this theme, and wish to know how I can fully uninstall it (not looking for a refund), I was very satisfied with it but have grown bored haha.

Please PM me the information on how to uninstall and revert back to regular windows.

Thanks,

Here you go

Sorry, I actually appear to be unable to fully uninstall the theme.

I didn't install the theme with the 7tsp, so that is overruled. I installed the theme with the installer from the shop
I deleted the theme from C:\Windows\Resources\Themes
I deleted Theme Resource Changer from C:\Program Files
And I deleted the Registry key {F791A188-699D-4FD4-955A-<wbr>EB59E89B1907}.

The startup screen is still the same as the theme?

Mr GRiM
October 10th, 2011, 05:56 AM
OK sorry I forgot to mention that one, to remove the startup screen just delete the backgrounds folder in C:\Windows\System32\oobe\Info and will return to your default one, or you can change it using this program http://www.julien-manici.com/windows_7_logon_background_changer/

Hi Mr.Grim....

I installed HUD theme on my notebook Asus G73 SW. Having already installed and uninstalled themes many times, I (in advance) patched files via Universal Theme Patcher. Once installed the theme and rebooted several times, however, the background, the taskbar and the start orb, remains at windows default. I do not understand. It almost seems like there is an ASUS default setting that protects those additional changes.

Any idea??

I have Windows 7 Home ed. 64-bit and I installed the theme via .exe file and added its Topshell Pack via 7tsp...

Mr GRiM
October 14th, 2011, 04:49 PM
Can you post a screen of how that look, are you saying that some parts of the theme have change?

Sorry Bro, but unfortunately I just restored everything to Win7 default. Usually I always do screenshots but unfortunately this time I didn't. :&quot;>

The theme is installed correctly and also the additional things (through 7tsp) are installed correctly. Everything works perfectly without giving any error. The sounds, icons, logon screen..... everything installs and works perfectly. Only the background of the desktop, taskbar and the start orb remain the windows 7 default.....

Now that I think......since I was a bit of a hurry, I'm afraid that I have installed first the additional pack through 7tsp and only after the real theme through the installer ........ could be the cause of the problem?:ashamed:

Using the Theme.exe and then 7tsp to install the Topshell maybe your problem. There is a Topshell.exe why not use that?

Mr GRiM
October 14th, 2011, 05:06 PM
Can you not install the 7tsp pack just yet and see if we can get the theme installed first, please use universal theme patcher first then do a reboot and install the theme using the installer making sure you select 1 on all the options.

Also check your dpi settings, they should be set to 100% and also in your folder options make sure Launch folder windows in a separate process is not checked.

Only another question: unfortunately due to an accident I have a small eye injury. I was wondering if is possible to use the DPI standard for notebooks (125%) without any noticeable flaws...

I think the only solution is a version of this theme, specifically for notebook ..... it's correct??

However, even with the DPI to 125%, imperfections are minimal

Mr GRiM
October 15th, 2011, 12:28 AM
Yeah with complex designs it's pretty hard to be able to make it work with all the dpi levels, it's really only designed to be used with 100%, you would probably be better of just changing the font sizes in the advanced appearance settings.
