I've searched for a while but haven't found this particular problem, so I apologize for being a noob if this issue has already been addressed.

I'm running Win7 x64 and some themes just don't seem to work right:

Here is a screenshot of the Shatter-red theme by X-ile:

As you can see, the colors work fine, but the window borders, buttons, orb, glass effect etc. all aren't working at all! I was previously using an Event Horizon theme and the start bar and windows worked fine. I feel like I followed all the installation tutorials pretty well, but I guess I missed something.

Thanks ahead of time for any and all help!

from what i am seeing you need to do 2 things one download the theme resource changer app that moonique provided a link to plus you need to make sure your system has been patched to enable 3rd party themes. both apps - univerisal theme patcher and theme resource changer can be found in this section http://virtualcustoms.net/forumdisplay.php/896-Theme-Patchers

I agree, it is definitely a theme patch issue. If you had 3rd party themes working before, it could have reverted back to the unpatched theme files due to an update from MS (e.g. SP1 update). Run the theme patcher again and you should be good to go.

I had an issue similar to yours when I installed MrGrims ZeroG on my desktop(WIN7x64). The Start Orb, Navigation Buttons and a bunch of other odds and ends just didnt take. It wasnt until I checked my DPI, which was set to 125% by default, and switched it to 100%, that all worked out. I hope this helps...

...also, dont forget, you need to run the Universal Pathcher x32, even on your x64...its in that 'Read Me'...

yes this is true also unique problem, because most versions use the default to 100 percent
larger interface is used for larger LCD monitors that have more than 82 inch diagonal interface

Yes Oshea! It was the DPI setting!!! Thank you so much! I knew I was doing things right, it was just the darn dpi. Now unfortunately everything is too small to read :(
There's gotta be a happy medium somewhere...

Thanks again guys, perhaps there should be a mention of this in some of the tutorials, I can't tell you how many hours it took to clear this up!

...I ended up with that issue aswell. Im using a 42" LCD as the monitor for the desktop. I went to Control Panel/Appearance.../Display/Screen Resolution, and just set it to 1366x768, I believe...Now my screen has the proportions of my laptop...
Hope that helps...

I saw someone talking about the themes not installing correctly. I had this problem as well. I changed my DPI/Text size back to 100% logged off/rebooted, applied theme and changed it back to 125% relogged and the theme "stuck". Hope this helps!

Thank's Oshea after purchashing Razorsedge Premium Hardwired theme and having the same issue as loydbrockman in post#1 your suggestion worked plus I had to set resolution to a min of 1024 x 768.

After logging off and on and the theme is fully enabled I can then increase the DPI & resolution and the theme will keep working even after restarts until I switch to another theme and then attempt to switch back requiring a repeat of your solution.
