and apply themes that don't have installers

Universal Theme patcher

Universal theme patcher is a silent install for both x86 and x64 just double click and it will patch the theme files for you. There will be no windows that show or anything you have to click it patches it all for you.

Have you installed any recent mods to your system like icon pack or anything?
somtimes these pack will cause issue depending on what .dll's or .exe they are patching.
If so what did you install before you noticed the issue.

i started customization the second i bought this laptop about 2 months ago, but only recently tried to use "Personalize" i have installed many thing, utorrent, madotate, dreamscene, 7tsp, bump top, universalpatcher, camstasia and more i cant remember. but as far as the right click that is boo-boo, reason in pic 56268

I'm betting it is a problem with using 7tsp several have experience problems depending on what pack you installed
Try running seven tsp again and using the restore feature built into the program select restore all before seven tsp first run and see if that fixes the issue and let us know. I'm beating the pack you used contain one of .dll's others have had issues with.

You will need to patch your compter like shown in the video. Once that is done you also need to download and install Theme Resource Changer. Below the video is a link to tutorial for that!

Thanks, but even after I downloaded that, it said that I could not install because I had the wrong version of windows. But I downloaded the one for win 7 32 bit(which is what I have). I was able to change the desktop icons, and my courser, but that is it. And now that I have moved and who knows what else, I'll have to re download the file in order to get it working. Anyways, I could not get it to work :(

ok first thing you need to do is patch your sytem using universal theme patcher this will allow the use of third party themes it can be found here http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/29243-Universal-Theme-Patcher-1-5-silent-installer-x86-x64 this is a silent install and will do all the work of patching your system for you and will enable your system to wear third party themes
Next you need to install theme resource changer on to your system http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/30902-Theme-Resource-Changer-no-more-dll-editing this app allows the images in the theme to load into memory instead of having to manually edit all those images
Next make sure you are placing the correct theme files into to the proper file location c/windows/resources/themes
each theme should consist of two things
1. a .theme file
2. the theme folder containing the msstyle file and the different image files
Both of these need to be copied to the above location then you can right click your desktop and select the personalize menu and you should now see your newly installed theme available for selection

Keep in mind themes and icons are totally a separate thing. Icons have to be applied separately from themes

Hi Life also....after you did everything that Big V mentioned ...if by chance you have some images that dont load like back and forth buttons or top image in control panel or
side panel in updates then open a window go up top to tools, scroll down to folder opsions click on that then click view in the box list below UNCHECK the box : launch folder
Windows in separate process ..... press apply and ok ....Thats it ...
:Peace:

Alright guys, thanks a lot for your help, but one more thing. After doing all of the above, It is better, but not there. My start button has changed, but the taskbar it's self is still the same. same with all the programs. all the buttons are correct, but the program it's self is still the same. I am trying to get it to look just like the screen shots shown in the download page for the vengance theme. Thanks!

For the tashbar try right clicking it and select properties under the taskbar tab, taskbar buttons and make sure you have it set to - always combine hide label

For the startmenu I'm not surewhats going on with out seeing a screenshot of what the issue might be

YEs, it was set like that. Everything looks just like windows sever, just all the buttons are different. The the whole interface is still the same. That folder, where I was supposed to move those three folders too, from themes to window themes, could it be, that I have to move All the folders to that section, not just the 3?

Big V

It sounds like you still don't have you system patch for wearing third party themes are you runing the patcher as admin

also you should only have two things that you are puting in the c/windows/resource/themes directory
one should be the Vengeance.theme file and the other should be the vengence theme folder
not sure what the third folder you are placing in that directory is
i'm assuming after looking at the download you are moving the font folder also, if that is the case you do not need it in that directory with the themes, just open the font folder and select each font and hit the install button on each font

I did everything you said, and what the video said. The colors, and all the buttons are correct, and a ran both the resource changer, and the other program. Could you maybe give me a link to a video that strictly explains only how to change the whole interface and all? Because in he video I watched, and didn't work.

Hi there :)

All the tuts you need for setting up your system are here in this section.

This one here of course for patching your system and applying themes

there is the tut here for applying all theme extras, http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/37745-Edit-Dll-images-apply-icons-theme-extras-video-tutorial

there is a tut here to show you how to center icons in your taskbar, http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/29047-Center-icons-in-taskbar

those are all the tuts you would need to setup your system, if you are encountering problems post some screens along with what your saying here of what is not changing for you or happening it will make it easier for us to help you out and inform you of what needs to be done :)

Hi all
Truly amazed by the work you guys produce, credit where credit is due and all that.

One question, do the changes affect other user accounts? Theme & Icon packs. Just don't want to mess up my girls accounts in the process.

Many thanks
Roy

I do not believe so. I think I remember testing this out for another member. If you set up your theme on your account, I do not believe it will be on any other accounts.

Many thanks for your reply,
I jumped straight in and changed my theme and used a 7tsp for the icon changes. Theme doesn't change the other accounts but the icon pack did.

Not to worry as I'm sure that the girls will get used to it. As for me I'm over the moon :D

Thanks again

Is there any TUT on windows 10 ?

From Mr GRiM's Windows 10 Black Edition thread:

You will need to use OldNewExplorer (highly recommended), SiB and Aero Glass are also recommended but the theme looks great without them.

Tools you may need:

Updated: ONE version 1.1.8.1(OldNewExplorer) (http://tihiy.net/files/OldNewExplorer.rar)

For best results use these settings.

http://virtualcustoms.net/attachment.php?attachmentid=70715&stc=1

StartIsBack ++1.3.2 (http://startisback.com/)
http://startisback.com/StartIsBackPlusPlus_setup.exe

For Windows 10 Technical Preview (0.2.4.2) (https://github.com/riverar/uxstyle/releases/download/0.2.4.2/UxStyle_0242_x86_x64_preview.exe)

Aero Glass for Win8.1+ v1.4.5 - change log (http://www.glass8.eu/out/changelog81.txt)

What are you running Windows 10 1511/TH2? If so, it's not dangerous just make a restore point and carefully follow the instructions Uxstyle and Theme Signature Bypass for Windows 10 TH2 AKA 1511 AKA 10586 (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/70555-Uxstyle-and-Theme-Signature-Bypass-for-Windows-10-TH2-AKA-1511-AKA-10586)
