hello
Zax (http://virtualcustoms.net/member.php/255616-Zax)

i now know where is your problem, because some of other 7tsp icon pack included 2 packages
one as 7tsp Rockstar blue no topshells x86 and x64 by Razorsedge included
Rockstar Blue no topshell 7tsp pack
Rockstar Blue Alternate no topshell 7tsp pack
first unzip this file with winRar or 7zip appl.and only then add it with 7tsp appl.

Only Shell32.dll and Explorer.exe are not supported on W10 and W8, i'm i right?
is supported and fully working on w10
but for patching on w7 you need to save explorer.exe as explorer.exe.res
and for w10 you need save explorer.exe as explorer.exe.mui.res

windows 7 shell32.dll you need to save as shell32.dll.res
windows 10 shell32.dll you need to save as shell32.dll.mui.res

I don't mean to question what you are saying but i think explorer.exe.mui and Shell32.dll.mui are different files than shell32.dll and explorer.exe; they digitalized the explorer.exe and the shell32.dll since W8, making those file not patch able, if i'm not mistaking. I got the answer that i was looking for with the list that you provided above.

what she means is the patching can only be done via mui files on 10 whereas it can be done directly to the explorer.exe & shell32,dll files in windows 7

But are you really patching the shell32.dll when you patch the shell32.dll.mui? Don't the shell32.dll.mui is a different file with different resources from shell32.dll? Does it mean that you can change every icons located in shell32.dll in W10 as long as you change them by patching the shell32.dll.mui?

i could very well be wrong but in win 10, afaik, custom resource types are not loaded from shellStyle.dll if it has mui resource pair, so you have to merge it with mui

So, your answer would be: Yes you can change the shell32 icons that used to be in shell32.dll by patching shell32.dll.mui since in W10 they are loaded from shell32's pair file which is shell32.dll.mui. I'm confused because i checked and it doesn't seems like the icons are the same. See Pic 1.PNG. Unless i'm not understanding what you are saying correctly.

And would you know which files can be patched with iPack builder? Moonnique gave me a list of files that can be patched using 7tsp, see pic 1.png. But what about iPack builder?
iPack can patch all as 7tsp without explorer.exe.mui.res and shell32.dll.mui.res
explorer.exe.mui.res and shell32.dll.mui.res can be patched only with 7tsp:Peace:
