Figured since I know 100% my back-ups actually work now (Thanks Win8) I could start trying some of these themes and stuff here on the site. Unfortunately I have no clue where to begin or what programs to use since there seems to be several to choose from. Any recommendations as far as which app to use for the themes? :itch:

Hi bud :)

do you plan to use the themes on win 7 or win 8 if it's win 8 can save you the troble to start with themes won't work for win 8 that are on here different ui even basic themes along with a different msstyle they won't work :)

for win 7 there is only a couple of things needed universal theme patcher to patch your system to use 3rd party themes and theme resource changer, theme resource changer once installed allows the theme to apply the start orbs, explorer frame images and the side panel in control panel when the theme is applied. No need to edit any dll's in windows or exe's it does it all from memory leaving your dlls untouched. Makes life much easier I have a few video tutorials here I did to help you with any of that and links below the tuts to anything you need to get everything done :)

How to patch windows 7 to allow 3rd party themes and apply themes video tutorial (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/37747-How-to-patch-windows-7-to-allow-3rd-party-themes-and-apply-themes-video-tutorial): http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/37747-How-to-patch-windows-7-to-allow-3rd-party-themes-and-apply-themes-video-tutorial
there are also many other tutorials in this section for any other help u may need http://virtualcustoms.net/forumdisplay.php/1005-Theme-Extras-Setup-Tutorials
