Welcome scotsdavy1 to VC
No we do not use windowblinds at all here... We like doing things without screwing your computer up lmao
Heres the tut section you can check out to get you started http://virtualcustoms.net/forumdisplay.php/1005-Theme-Extras-Setup-Tutorials
You can have a look also in the gadget section but i don't think I have ever seen a g-mail counter gadget on the site http://virtualcustoms.net/forumdisplay.php/782-Desktop-Gadgets

You can use Rainmeter as a counter for Gmail. It includes TONS of other skins, but you can have only the Gmail counter up if you'd like. If you go to http://novasev.com/rainmeterDL.html you can download any of those (I would suggest NovaSev RMS or SimplyNovaV1) and it will include the Gmail counter. If you only want that one part of the skin then right click on each other part goto variant and click on the name, it will go away. You'll also have to download the Rainmeter program from rainmeter.net. It's a light weight program and you won't notice any system drag (assuming you're not running the oldest computer in the world). If you have any questions on how to set it up, just shoot me an email.
