Not sure if or how many of you have been following the development of this but today the official site has started the countdown to release.

For those not sure what it is, its basically a full recreation of Half-Life 1 on the source engine. Some may think that it was already done by Valve as in HL Source, but that was just a port that added HD sounds and basicaly water with not much else. This is a full recreation.

It will be free, and all you will need to play it is any source game on Steam.

Personaly i cant wait, i have been following this MOD for a long time, if you can call a full re-created game a MOD.

I've followed this development for some time, i was always wondering if they would rebuild the whole engine and finally its done. I have to say that the HL base engine has been used formany other games too from valve (if i'm not mistaken). This remake will bring a nice change into the HL series. I cant wait for the release. :greedy:

If you have Steam, the BlackMesa Devs are now asking for votes to get into the Steam Greenlight program. If they get enough Votes the game will be released through Steam instead of just a download and install yourself. The game will still be free just available through Steam.

If you want to vote then head over to their official site and click the vote button.
