No I won't be skinning Skype, in fact this really pisses me off that because MS thinks usage has dropped is a good reason to scrap a product or feature that lots of people still use, lately I have really started to loose faith in MS, Skpe is great for video calls to family and that's what I use it for but I use messenger for talking to all my online friends and that's what I prefer for instant messaging, one size does not fit all and that what MS seems to be going for these days.

Well it's been a long time since I had a good rant this post is just as good as any to have one lol

I am with Grim here this is utter bullshit lol I have been using messenger since the dam 90's, first msn messenger then suffering through microsofts bullshit of taking it over and turning it into some huge social networking craploa when all I need is a simple chat client to talk to my friends this sucks large MS you basterds lol

First we get win 8 with the forced new ui to use without start menus and such being an options for users, it was bad enough that IE is always built into the os now the antivirus and all the other crap is forced on us built in without the user having a choice of what to use so we bloat up our systems with all this installed crap cause ms seems with each new os microsoft tries to make it harder for 3rd parties to make software that will work on their os's so we can be forced to use MS stuff, I say lets have an uprising and bring down microsoft with all their bullshit no more Hail to the King I want a choice lol

This here honestly does piss me off how does microsoft justify forcing us to switch to skype that has a world wide base user number of 30 million over windows live messenger that has base users that number in excess of 200 million WTF really. How do you justify forcing us to use skype when the user base is 30 mill to a user base thats 200+ mill. Just further proof of how ms does not listen to it's users and starts ramming down our throats what they want us to use not giving 2 shits what the users want especially with numbers like 200 mill users forced to switch to a user base of only 30 mill how does that make any sense lol

Now I have to find out what all my friends will be doing first will they use skype will the use yahoo, pigdin, miranda, trillion to see what client I will end up having to use will I end up having to use 2 or 3 to stay in touch if some friends choose this one or that one dam you ms dam you thanks for more hassle and what of e-mailing does this mean that windows live mail is gone too will I have to make a new e-mail addy as well ( I understand that you can merge your existing account with a skype account and I don't have a skype account so if I have to make one does my old addy stay intact ) if not then I have to go to all my crap and switch up my e-mails too dammmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm leave it to ms to cause nothing but headaches lol

I of course will look into skinning this if I have no choice but to go to it cause well I aint leaving it up to ms to choose how it looks as evidenced by windows 8 metro that ms has no taste in coloring or how things look if I want ugly then I would use a microsoft skin lmao

anyways there's my 2 cents sry for me not being around lately as most of you know the hurricane that hit the usa and canada last week caused some havoc for me here one nite I was trying to get some work done and the power went on and off about 6 or 7 times in a 15 min span and the forced shut downs of my computer seemed to have screwed up my windows install so I am almost done backing up all my crap to do a fresh reinstall this weekend. More microsoft headaches lmao

yeah i totally agree but skype is full of bloat and toolbars witch is a pain to remove from the installer and it will only install them next update any way so royal pain i have also noticed lots on MS apps are hijacking your browser home page with bing or installing bing desktop forcing there search engine on people. if MS keeps down this road they will be seeing some dark times in the software industry as most software dev's are moving to linux because of win 8 witch deals a huge blow to us users who enjoy thos dev's software. even hardware makers suffered a blow in the industry due to win 8 i hope they crash and burn.

razorsedge (http://virtualcustoms.net/member.php/148478-razorsedge) / Toadyshadow101 (http://virtualcustoms.net/member.php/208186-Toadyshadow101) agree with you both, microsour really screwed dropping messenger and in build 8 like they did. they're only listening to corporations on how windows and message clients should look, they think if they cowtoe to corporate america that will be enough to keep them in business even with going against what consumers want. i have said it too many times to count since the release of xp that microsour is slowly pushing everyone to operate their computer the exact same way as everyone else. as for which messenger replacement i'll use, i'm going to push peeps to trillion. it's almost as customizable as messenger.

well i just reinstalled trillian the latest beta 5.3.07 and i'm trying very hard to figure why in the HELL i ever stopped using it. from my messenger contacts, to my facebook feeds, to my twitter feeds i truly must of been OFF MY ROCKER the day i uninstalled trillian and didn't reinstall it.
