I had the Brilliantly Stupid Idea of writing a Custom Skin for Steam and after many Hours of pounding on my Keyboard and replacing it 3 times! I came up with this....

I think it's cool mate and something I didn't even know you could do, makes me wonder now if I should try to make one to match my HUD themes as it already uses the shadows from the themes

I agree, I did it just because I found out there are very few Skins for steam and it fully supports it. If you do go for it, here is a tip I learned the hard way. The colors are in RGBA Decimal and the only program I found that can give you your correct colors is paint.net also use paint.net when adjusting the .tga files because Photoshop doesn't display the Alpha Channel correctly and just about all .tga's in the skin have a Alpha channel transparency to them ether on the boarders or with in the design, Photoshop displays the transparency as black and dumps the Alpha Channel altogether.

I hope that helped if you do decide to go for it and I'll be waiting to see your designs.

Awesome skin! Sadly it's severely buggy now. Pretty much everything is in the wrong spots now. It's hard to see anything on it now. Maybe if i ever gets updated I'll be able to use it. But for now t no longer works properly with Steam.

Mr. GRiM, you should do some HUD themes for Steam :D On a side note, anyone else have themes somewhere on VC? I'm looking for something to match HUD Evolution :)

For this one and all others the big picture mode button is placed wrong, but also on this one, there is a glitch on the top left corner of the games list.

So far I'm currently not seeing any other glitches, but if there are any Ii'm sure I'll find them sooner or later.

If this skin gets fixed I would definitely use it as my permanent Steam skin. It is literally the best skin I've seen so far. :peace:

I can't for the life of me find it to send for you so I just uploaded it to MediaFire.. It has a "settings.ini" file you can edit to change from red, blue, green, and black :) I defaulted it to RED for you ;)

Dun need a dropbox account to download. if it asks u to sign up just close that popup and click download again, it should work fine then. That's what i did anyways (Also, I use Google Chrome, not sure if it matters though). As for the reason I couldn't upload to MediaFire, it claimed to have more than 300 files in it and 300 is the limit on my account apparently. I'm not sure if it really had that many though, as I didn't bother going in and counting them out, lol.

If it helps any, I also don't have a Dropbox account, lol.

its pretty cool in theory. but there are a couple of bugs that ive encountered. like big picture button being out of place, and ROG logo no where to be found. please release a patch or an update if possible thanks

I'd love to see some Steam ROGed skins to match the ASUS Dark series themes. [I'm really wanting one to match the ASUS Dark-Red theme, lol] Tis a shame this one doesn't work on the latest Steam build.

I agree, i miss a ROG Steam skin... But until that is made i use Metro For Steam and u can use "settings" for that skin and choose whatever color u like.

I noticed something rather ironic today, lol. The Metro for Steam skin [and it's dark variant] are the only skins around that actually work with the Community Hub for pretty much any game or page. No other skin works with the Community Hubs. Even the default built in steam skin is glitched asf in the Community Hubs, lol. I actually face palmed when I noticed that steam's very own built in skin didn't even show the Community Hubs properly lol. Everything is misaligned asf and completely overlapping everything in every skin BUT this one on the Community Hubs, lol. I wonder if even steam is ever gonna get their heads outta their bums and fix that glitch in their own default skin, lol.
