Plus, my multifunction will need (it needs them with each new operating system) new drivers, that I can only get at the multifunction service of the btrand ... for not less than 100 € :anger:

Initially, I had a virtual machine with W7 OS in ... but it went down (or I went it down :whistle:, jeje). Since that and many problems with windows update, and a lot of scares each time my pc "blacks out", I've became very conservative: I don't want a heart attack because pf my pc :Fright:

actualy you can use the windows 7 start orbs in windows 8.1 & 8.1 & 8.1.1 But you needed the startisback program to bring start menu in windows 8.

this is the program you can add any start orb you want and apply.

Well, downloaded me a new theme. Was using HUD Evolutio by Mr. GRiM, and still have it in my themes area, but found another theme here on VC that I just 'had' to have =). Here is my Desktop.

I decided to add more rainmeter skins to the theme i'm currently using. Alot of different ones so it's a bit much to go searching for the creators of them, however i got them all from DevART. I edited the colors of them to make them look the way they do, so they are not the stock versions. I also upped the resolution from 1360x768 to 1920x1080. Here is the screenshot.

I saved the rainmeter layout to the layouts folder in rainmeter and named it TECH-A Overkill EVIL VERSION. I would like to upload it to DevART for others to use but that is something I don't know how to do since I have no idea how to put the layout into a downloadable file for that to work. However, it's not quite something I'm worried about. I'm sure just posting a screenshot for people to see would be good enough, rofl.

I hear ya on the touchpads, I hate the things myself. If your ever in a PC store and they've got any of the ASUS G-Series laptops on display, have a play with the touchpad and you might be surprised. The only touchpad I've used without reaching for a mouse.

Dear Friends,

Attached is the list of rainmeter skins that I'm running.

A few points to be noted:

1. I have replaced the original image for Avengers tweaked\Large launchers with Avengers\Large launchers image, which I've further mirrored horizontally. The image requires further modification after the mirror, to ensure that it highlights up on mouseover.
2. The same thing with Avengers tweaked\Small launchers, but here, I've mirrored the image horizontally and vertically.
3. The font used is Microgamma regular.
4. The Avengers\Border skin is not 1920*1080, but 1920*1046 to accommodate the taskbar.
5. I would also recommend checking out the 'Blue Vision 0.2' rainmeter skin; it's fabulously designed.
6. If you require the re-edited skins, I'll be more than happy to put them up.
7. The programs that you would need running for the widgets to work properly are: Speedfan and CoreTemp.
8. Also, for my windows config, I'm running Full Glass (for Explorer), and Glass2k (for other programs). Also, Aero Glass for light reflection effects on Explorer.
9. For menus, I'm using Moo0 Transparent Menu, alpha@25%.
10. The dock used is Teh dock from VC\Downloads\Rocketdock Skins. I have recoloured it to match the theme.

Tip: Please disable the 'snap to edges' option on the skins for better positioning on the desktop.

I'll see if I can make an rmskin file for the various components of these skins that I'm using and upload them. Also, I'm a little rusty with rainmeter as I's used it last about 2 years ago before this current config. So, any suggestions/tips/tricks are welcome!!

Well, I'm finally back. My desktop computer apparently crapped out on me. Had to wait for the Black Friday sale to get a new one. 62 hours of standing in line having to deal with one of the employees being a total ass to everyone there and I finally got it. true lol. I didn't have any choice sadly. It was the only way I could afford a new computer. But even so, never again! It was a total clusterfuck at that place. I had to endure a full 62 hours of standing perfectly still on the spot with some asshole employee hassling every single person there. They wouldn't let us use chairs either. I had to endure full 62 hours of it to maintain my spot at the front of the damn line. By the time i got home i was furious, exhausted, and borderline insane from having to put up with al of that crap for so long. Swapped out the bg on the theme i'm using with the DarkGeometry wall made by Aeries (I may have spelled that wrong rofl).

raimeter itself is more apt to cause a performance hit then a 3rd party theme.I Have never heard of a 3rd party theme giving a performance hit.Have you checked your task manager to see what was running and what was using your cpu when you had the theme installed?

No, however I just found a post stating that the version of AeroGlass I had can cause the problem I was having. I'll avoid that one from now on. Might start looking for another theme to test out =p

Here is another Windows 8.1.1 desktop screenshot. It might be the last for a while as I'm in the process of converting my main rig to Windows 7. There's still about five years to enjoy it with official patches, so I figure why not (I've actually never run it on my main rig). I now have almost all of the VC themes downloaded so I plan on enjoying them without having to have been ported from the original. Also, I'm thinking that Windows 10 has some features that don't bode well for theming so I doubt I'll be moving on to that for at least a while after the official release date. At the current time the main problem I have with Windows 8 is just the lack of ability to have a customized login screen. There are also more tools involved and I find it annoying having to manually change the start orbs using StartIsBack (although it's manageable if you have all the orbs in alphabetical order). Here are my customization tools again.

Killer screenshots! If you'll look in your Windows folder for a file called "Logo", you'll find that HP logo. If you would customize it (make a new one, recolor it, etc.), or just delete it entirely, your system properties will look better.

Basically, although the bottom lines up perfectly, the top seems to be 1 or 2 pixels short. I'm not sure if that was intended or not but I thought I should mention it. Sweet ty. As for StartIsBack, my grandma's fiance helped me out by paying for StartIsBack+ 1.7.5 and it didn't fix the problem. At least I now have the latest version, lol.

Another thought just came to mind. Is it possible it could be a resolution related issue? I know I'm on a resolution of 1366x768. I'm not sure if that matters, but I figured I'd bring that up just in case.

Killer screenshots! If you'll look in your Windows folder for a file called "Logo", you'll find that HP logo. If you would customize it (make a new one, recolor it, etc.), or just delete it entirely, your system properties will look better.

Decided to search for it again but this is all that's in the c:/windows folder on my pc.

The winstep theme is just atmospherica. I pulled an image from OMA's Asus theme for the wsFullBody image. The RM cpu on the left is called Dark Orange2.. i just changed the cpu color to blue and the background color to match the bar color. The bar im not sure of the name.. it just jays taskbar.ini .. but i got it on DeviantArt. If you would like something just ask bro

To my surprise this VirtualBox Windows 8.1 VM outperforms both Windows 7 and 10 in terms of stability for Guest Additions fullscreen performance.
