I'm trying to create translucent navigation buttons for explorerframe dll, but I can't figure out how. I'm trying to use alpha channels in photoshop to configure the transparency, but it seems like an all-or-nothing affair. I know there's a way to get semitransparent bmp's, because a bunch of default system bmp's are. Unfortunately, photoshop isn't very descriptive when it comes to a bitmap's alpha channel properties.

In Windows Style Builder, I can make translucent nav buttons for some of the windows (like the network setup wizard) because it used png's instead. I'm attaching the png nav button, and I want to make the bmp button look the same as it. I've google this for hours, and nobody gives a straight answer, it seems...

you can use the "Theme Resource Changer"

you can find here all you need to do: http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/30902-Theme-Resource-Changer-no-more-dll-editing/page15

but if you want to create bmp images ... create images in png ... then format it to bmp with the "BMP Picture Maker"

I use this program to create my bmp

I have helped :flirt:
