StartIsBack visual Styles

Is there any one making or having a look at making visual styles for StartIsBack - it seems to be virtually just the start menu screen images in a VS. I only have Restorator and had a go at it but can not manipulate the images to work properly with it, will need something like Vista Style Builder to do that I think!

Those who have Vista Style Builder could easily port just the start menu for Win7 VS to Start is Back VS

Anyone up to it?

I wish they would. I've tried putting some of the theme files from here into Startisback style folder, a few work, but most don't, a few of windows 8 themes work with it. I wish somebody would dedicate some time to rewrite some of the themes here to work straight from Startisback.

If you're using the newest version of StartisBack, you can theme the taskbar and start menu by placing a Windows 8.1 or 10 .msstyles in

C:\Program Files (x86)\StartIsBack\Styles

Not all of the themes work with Search enabled though. I went through all the Windows 10 themes and here is a list of the themes that display correctly without any sizing glitches with search enabled, and some screenshots you can try out:

I would try, but every time I've tried to port a Windows 7 msstyle over to Windows 10 I black screened my system so for now I'm not skilled enough for that just yet. That and I would have a hard time reinstalling since I have both Linux and Windows dual booted and amusing the grub loader instead of default windows boot loader, lol. Would need multiple usb sticks for installers in case I bork my system, and rn I only have the one.

If you want to mix and match StartIsBack++ skins in your themes just copy the MSSTYLES into the StartIsBack++ skins folder. It should work fine. Thanks to moonique for finding this useful little tid bit.

You should try to install another version of startisblack ++. There may be a problem specifically with the version you are trying to install.

I'm working on creating some SIB themes in various colors which will include a floating taskbar and which will color match themes like Nord and others, those *.msstyles with a bit of luck will also work as a theme and if all works well I will include those themes together with its desktop backgrounds and custom logon/lockScreen images. A big project indeed . . .
