I know this has been asked some time ago but I have the same problem. When changing Icons in the setupapi.dll there's no sound anymore. There are a lot of Windows services related to setupapi.dll, but why should one fail when you only change the Icons? The interesting thing is that it also slows down the Windows Startup process, as if Windows is really confused about the changed dll. Has anyone of you guys tried to change the setupapi.dll and found a solution, or is it simply not possible to change it?
