Thanks much bud :) That band I am like hooked on now it's crazy something about their tunes just pulls me in I grabbed their whole collection lol. That intro is ya way cool man I found so many cool Steampunk things over the last bunch of months I could fill up pages and pages with posts of it. When I was doing the theme it was the hardest to choose which way to go do I do a desilpunk off scifi theme or do I go all metal and brass do I go wood I finally ened up with a metal wood mix but it was tuff to decide which way to go lol

Do you have theme resource changer installed it is required for those images to be applied with the theme on Windows 7 you can get that here http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/31635-How-to-use-theme-resource-changer

If you don't use it you will have to edit the images with restorator manually they will also have to be converted to bitmaps to edit them directly in the dll's.

Those exe files won't apply those images the exe packs your speaking of are just the ipack installers for the icons that's all they do. The images your speaking of for the explorerframe buttons and the side panel in control panel are in the theme folder from this thread those exe installers will not apply those images the theme will apply those images when you select it if you have these resource changer installed :)

This image here shows you where those ones your looking for are located

I do not know if others have the same problem, but when you open the "Save As ..." in cyberfox browser or notepad, these buttons are in default or it must be so.

I use this theme for windows 7 x64 and steampunk Full System iPacks

Hi Sux that's been that way for all themes when it comes to theme resource changer as it does not do the x64 explorerframe.dll for the explorer frame buttons. The only way to not have that is to convert the pngs for the explorer frame in theme folder to bitmaps and edit the explorerframe.dll in the syswow64 folder your would need to do this for for every theme though.

No problem at all bud, I mean there is a way around that I could do and that would be by making the explorerframe edits and res files then adding them to the ipacks the only problem there is if you switch the theme and keep the ipack icons your going to be stuck with the other themes explorerframe images.

I know it's a bit of a pain as for me since I started using x64 way back when XP made the first x64 system I have always tried to have all or as many of my apps as 64bit versions since I am using a 64bit os I want 64bit apps lol. So I see this a lot I wish there was an easier way around it but hey it's a small thing I can live with lol

I would have to look around bud I never have really looked for any start orbs ever as I normally make my own my suggestion would be try doing a google search for steampunk start orbs or steampunk icons and see if an image comes up that is to your liking. As for me to try and pick one I am not sure of your tastes or likes so it would be hard for me to pick something out that you might like :)

Do not bother with that razor. This is quite ok.
I had Windows 8.1 so far, so I'm used to that there are the same buttons.
I'm a little forgotten win 7, I have to remember.
Windows 7 is much better for the theme. install two programs and that's it.
I have a SSD in notebook and fast as with win 8.1

lol bud totally agree that's why I have said for any new Windows OS for me to switch since Win 7 is so easy to customize and not have anything break on you the new Windows Os's would have to offer me a lot more then they do to get me to switch :)

But incase you are ever interested in having that ipacks are so easy to make updates too I could always do extras takes about 5 mins to make the explorer frame res and add it to those packs :) in fact if you know how to make res files ( I do have a tutorial here on the site as well for making them ) you could also make them if you ever wanted yourself and update the pack as well ipacks are awesome lol

Sorry........is it in a windows 10 version yet? I was just asking didn't mean to affend anyone!

Here you go, for Windows 10 Anniversary Update ......

http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/74559-Chrononaut-Remaster-for-Windows-10-Anniversary-Update-aka-Redstone-One

To put in nicely, we don't design themes for Window Blinds because it's bloatware and a resource hog, IMO the themes created here are a HELL of a lot better looking than anything on Window Blinds, also whereas 99% of the themes posted here are free and 99% of Stardocks Window Blind themes are not. They want you to pay for Window Blinds and after you do they charge you for their themes, so your kinda getting hit with a double whammy.

And it's not only Window Blinds, it's pretty much anything Stardock peddles sucks down system resources.

Secondly, Stardock support are a bunch on know-it-all SNOBS, they treat people like idiots.

It really befuddles me how they are still in business :sigh: I guess to a theme novice Windows Blinds is the sh!t, just as AOL is to an internet newb .......... are there any of them left?

IceBabee
February 14th, 2017, 06:57 PM
You are correct......they do sucker you and yes.....The themes here are 1000 times nicer. I use to have windows 7 and used alot of these themes, I even went together with alot of other designers and we created "Mechanism". It was a fun project to do with everyone! So I do know how good these themes are from here. I now have windows 10 and am looking to customize my desktop again, but I just wasn't sure on windowblinds, winstep or just go back to what I know! Thanks for the feed back though, much appreciated.

IceBabee (http://virtualcustoms.net/member.php/152436-IceBabee) winstep is one thing. i use winstep nexus ultimate and it's worth the money, and plenty of free themes for it to compliment whatever win 10 them you're using from here.
