Your welcome guys, still wishing there was a better way of using themes on TH2, I hate having to use this UxThemePatcher workaround, I would still recommend installing Uxstyle though as it does actually let you run custom themes still, it just doesn't let you apply them in the personalization menu and could still potentially save you from problems if a windows update replaces the patched theme files.

Thanks MrGRiM! If you run my All in one Themer for Windows 10 1511 th2, all you need to do is drop your files into the /Windows/Resources/Themes folder, and they work right out-of-the-box.

Thanks once again Mr GRiM, I just have a question, with the new theme update the "right-click" menus on the desktop have a larger font and text size then normal and also there are grey visible dividers in the menu as well.
I have tried to change the text size in windows manually, but the font size in menus does not change at all.
I have also tried to remove and redo the UXInstaller but it does not help.
Other themes I've tried does not have this strange phenomenon
Any advice would be highly appreciated.

These changes were intentional, with the colored text it made it easier to read being slightly larger, I only changed it from size 9 to size 10 and also made it semi-bold, I also added back the grey separator just because I liked it.

I think OS build 10568.17 adds further complications into this. It doesn't seem to work. Only the desktop background changes and the control panel for the themes page changes background color, but File Explorer remains white.

Maybe you have not been following the current state with the TH2 update, all previous themes are no longer compatible nor are any of the theme patching methods, if you want to use a custom theme in build 10586+ you will need to first download a compatible theme like this one and then you will need to use the only current working method that is mentioned in the first post.

Thank you Mr Grim for your themes! They are literally a sight for sore eyes.
But there's a problem with Firefox's context menus - they are double sized and sometimes glitch.
Everything else for every other program seems fine. Switching to default Windows theme brings normal size back.

No it's not my mistake and no I didn't change them, it is only like that for the Taskbar I believe, this context menu was a new edition in the msstyles, the size sadly can not be reduced, you will find this the same for all themes.

Thanks very much for providing the reg hack to remove the windows color so hibernating doesn't reset the color of the "save as" area of things like photoshop but now I noticed the "resuming windows" or "shutting down" screens are now the default blue and it is a bit jarring so I was wondering if there was any way to just make the background black for that startup/shutdown screen?

I was at 11082, installed this theme using the method and themepatcher was not supported. I selected the theme, signed out and it flashed gray and black.
I rolled back to 10586, used the method, selected the theme(which worked fine), used a stand-alone upgrade to 11082 and it never made the final boot; gray and black flash.
Have you gone 11082? I'll bet you have. All I want for Christmas is my aqua clock.
Thanks to all.

Never mind, I just found the thread.
BTW, I dual boot, and this boot will not update to 11082. It has failed multiple times, and also failed the stand-alone update. That's when I tried my other installation.

This is a known issue caused by a Windows Update. You can try this version instead: http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/70486-SIB-Supports-W10-Taskbar-%28thanks-a-million-Mr-Grim-and-Dark-Knight%29/page2?p=309627&viewfull=1#post309627

Yes but if it's working you can ignore the error message for now. At this time we have to wait for the Aero Glass developer to release a new version.

Minor build number changes shouldn't effect the theme being applied.

It's probably an error with either the installation of the theme or the patching method used... More information is needed to help further.

This is what I did step by step:

1. Installed UxStyle
2. Opened the "Take Ownership" reg file.
3. Applied "Take ownership" to all 3 files: uxtheme, uxinit and themeui.
4. Renamed them with .del at the end.
5. Copy and Pasted the Patched Files (uxtheme, uxinit and themeui)
6. Restarted PC
7. Applied Theme, and this is what I get:

73305

UPDATE: Found the issue!! Hahah, how could I forget about that. I didn't copy the theme folder to C:\windows\Resources\Themes
Now its working properly! :)

It's because of the UxThemePatcher method being used. If you want preview images you have to undo any changes you made to the files in System32 and use this method of patching instead Uxstyle and Theme Signature Bypass for Windows 10 TH2 AKA 1511 AKA 10586 (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/70555-Uxstyle-and-Theme-Signature-Bypass-for-Windows-10-TH2-AKA-1511-AKA-10586)

Great theme, thanks. I almost started to downgrade back to Windows 7 to get a dark theme again.

Two questions.

First, it seems that the title bar section of Explorer is using the Windows 10 color, and not the background color of the other areas. Did I miss something during installation? I did everything except install Aero Glass, as the installer said something about a 30-day trial. Is Aero Glass required to make the colors match?

74535

Second, any way to temporarily or permanently adjust the background color for MS Word? There are times when I need the traditional black text on white so that what I see is what it will look like printed. I have Windows Style Builder, and am kind of familiar with it, but would prefer not messing with the theme files if there is an easier way.

BrianHVB
July 27th, 2016, 04:57 PM
Sorry, I was able to answer both questions on my own.

In case others have the same thoughts.....

1. If the Windows 10 color seems to be overriding the Theme color, simply change your theme to something new, and then back to the one you want.

2. One of the differences between the pure and mixed versions of each theme, is that the mixed version doesn't change the background color of many windows, such as Word, and others. If you need to see black text on white backing, use one of these.

Please Mr. Grim could you translate the annonying borderless theme 'Windows Black Edition v2.theme' to aerolite.msstyles to be able have your amazing dark theme with window borders?

I'm running into many troubles trying to import/export values in WSB.because aero.msstyles and aerolite.msstyles are very different...

Please... I can pay for the work that I'm asking you, a little compensation via Paypal (contact me via MP if you would like to) for Mr. Grim or any other trusted/veteran/mod user here that can do it right and show me a demo before. Anyways I think that I'm not asking too much to be a paid request, I mean I hope someone could do this for free with no effort.
