Hello,

I would like to know if there is a working .reg file to remove the Quick Access and OneDrive areas from the left folder pane in file explorer on the Windows 10 November Update [aka v1511]. If so, can someone please post them here? I'm using neiio's Steam theme for Windows 10 v1511 and would like to remove the Quick Access and OneDrive folders from the left folder pane since the icons for them simply refuse to allow me to properly customize them. Those icons simply don't go well with this theme, especially since I use wolfy's edited version of the Token Dark iconpack with neiio's Steam theme. If there are .reg files that work with Windows 10 v1511 then I would be really grateful if someone could please post them here.

You can delete them but ... try changing these 2 icons (http://virtualcustoms.net/showthread.php/70540-How-To-Change-Icons-in-Navigation-Pane-Windows-10) according to the theme you have, it would look a little better your explorer

This is a much better idea in my opinion. Thanks for filling me in on this. However, I've never done anything like this before and am 100% positive that i will brick something if i try it myself. That said, can someone please create a .reg file of some sort that will automatically apply token dark styled OneDrive and Quick Access icons to their respective areas in the left folder pane for me? I really like this idea but am very protective of this laptop since it's both brand new and the last computer I will be able to get since it's the replacement grandma got as an apology for accidentally getting an outdated dinosaur as my previous one. [That one was so old and small that it didn't last very long at all]

Here is a screenshot of what it currently looks like.

[I swapped over to my all time fav theme upon finding the Win10 TH2 port on DeviantArt. Thanks so much to gsw953 for creating this downright perfect theme.]

I need the OneDrive and Quick Access icons to be changed to Token Dark versions. But I have never modded icons in the way described. I'm afraid I'll brick my system if I try to do it myself. Just using the customise feature in the folders themselves doesn't work. The icons always change back in the Navigation pane. I'm needing someone to please create either a .reg file or a installer that will change them to token dark versions for me. I'm using wolfy's edit of the 7tsp token dark icon pack by bsrev . But it doesn't change those two icons. I really need someone to provide me with either a .reg file or an installer of some sort that will change the OneDrive and Quick Access icons in the Navigation pane to token dark versions for me.

Ok here you go
First uninstall the pack you are using now
then unzip the download and run the"redirect Quick Access".reg file
all it does is change the Quick Access icon's path from shell32.dll to imageres.dll
now run the Dark Token for Windows 10 .exe
the icon pack is made with ipack which is a little nicer than a 7tsp pack
for one ,after install no restart is required and to uninstall the pack
you do it from the Programs and Features Window just like a normal program

This is an admin account. Apparently .reg files are the only files on my system that use the merge command instead of the run as admin command. either way, i just applied the icon pack to see how well it turned out and oddly enough the blue star goes fairly good with it like this.

Blue star is strangely appealing with the rest of the icons properly set to token dark. I'll just leave it like this. Never would've thought having the OneDrive icon set instead of both would actually look this cool. Thanks for all the help gsw. You're awesome! :greedy::peace:

Ok cool, seems odd you can't run it as admin, does regedit.exe open for you normally?

yup, i've had to use that for a couple things already and i have no problems getting it to run. It's probably a setting somewhere that needs to be changed. I do remember i use to have the run as admin on .reg files before, but i'm not entirely sure when it was that it got swapped for merge.

Well ,if you get sick of having the blue star just let me know and I will tell you how to change the path manually,
it's pretty easy.

If you're still up for it, a new theme I'm using could use the token dark styled quick access icon, and I'd like to know how to change it manually. I would greatly appreciate the instructions. :cheeky:

Oh,I figured out why the .reg file won't run for you,I had to do a re-install of windows 10 and it wouldn't run for me after.
You need to take ownership of the following key first

HKEY_CLASSES_ROOT\CLSID\{679f85cb-0220-4080-b29b-5540cc05aab6}\DefaultIcon
The easiest way is to grab this app http://winaero.com/comment.php?comment.news.210
open the app and just copy and paste the above reg key in the "select registry key " box and hit the "take ownership" button
Then the .reg file should merge fine

Got the RegOwnershipEx program but it's for Windows 7 and Windows 8. There's no version for Windows 10 or Windows 10 TH2 included. Will the Windows 8 version still work?

---EDIT---

Went ahead and tested the Windows 8 version. Worked perfectly. Thank you sooooooo much!
