Looks like Tihiy has updated ONE to work fully with RS1, download the latest version here http://tihiy.net/files/OldNewExplorer.rar

New themes for RS1 will need the Custom UI files updated in the shellstyle.dll, I have made 2 res files to make it easy, one is for the topshell, details pane on top and the other is for the details pane on the bottom.

while i appreciate that tihiy updated ONE for rs1 i personally wish he would of waited till the official anniversary because you never know what mickysour is going nto pull out of their preverbal ass. thanks for letting us know and posting about it grim. also thanks for the shellstyles.

You will have themes that work but none will work correctly, the UI files are now going to be loaded if they are the wrong ones or not, the ones I am providing are the latest UI files merged with the custom parts from the old ones, there were some UI files that remained unchanged though so they are going to work fine in older themes, to avoid any problems with new features that have been added to Windows 10 I would recommend only using these new UI files.

Where do I put these two files? Please help, I am really at a loss as to what to do with these files.
These are res files, they contain the updated resources, to use them you will have to download Restorator, open the shellstyle.dll in Restorator and then simply drop one of the res files on it and then save it, these files are mainly provided for themers to include in RS1 themes, the reason I did not provide a shellstyle.dll is because I use different custom shellstyle.dll's for different themes, if you need me to provide a shellstyle.dll for the Black Edition theme let me Know.

I don't think you have done it right, if you update your shellstyle.dll as well as ONE it will no longer be white.

OK much clearer now. Before I had tried assigning each individual element in your shellstyle file which did not work. Dragging and dropping is much more simple, thanks.

Sure, open the shellstyle.dll in restorator and delete the SYSTEMCPL_UIFILE folder, I can make a version with orange to match if you like instead.

Everything's working for me now too, using your shellstyle file. Maybe I should attempt to fix the open/save dialogs by applying the color background? Still got the issue on most themes (not on Black Edition).

The logo is part of the theme, it is in the msstyles, the shellstyle.dll systemcpl uifile has been modified to use the image in the msstyles instead of the one in the shellbrd.dll

The msstyles is called Windows Black Edition Orange.msstyles, open the theme folder you downloaded and it's in the folder called Windows Black Edition "Windows Black Edition Complete Colection\Theme\Windows Black Edition"

I could have given you just that updated msstyles but I decided to redo all the colored themes with matching Windows 10 logo's and release the themes for everyone.

The msstyles is called Windows Black Edition Orange.msstyles, open the theme folder you downloaded and it's in the folder called Windows Black Edition "Windows Black Edition Complete Colection\Theme\Windows Black Edition"

With Insider build Office_2016_x86_x64_EN_16.0.7167.2015 the black theme does not work for Word. The document is white with black lettering instead of black with (in my case) orange lettering. In excel, and onenote it appears to be working OK, but not in other office apps. Just a FYI Mr GRiM. If you want to test the new Insider let me know, and I will PM you a link. If I don't hear from you I am assuming you will let it go. After all, it IS an INSIDER release!

Thanks for the info dhjohns, If that is the case then it would mean office is no longer using the windows system metrics/colors which imo is a good thing as it has always been an issue in the past for a lot of people using dark themes who do not like it effecting office, it not only colored the page and text it would also print in those colors so it really was an issue for allot of people who would always have to switch to a default theme when using office.

No ONE will not fix those issues, they are theme related issues, you would have to theme that uses white window backgrounds and black window text, all of my mix themes on my black windows 10 edition and all my light HUD themes have this and will display correctly.

Try switching to a theme that for sure has support for taskbar skinning, any of the themes in my section do

check theme on computer proprieties window with old shelstyle and then with yours shellstyle, with poison or hud grims for example (wich have the proprierties im saying).

you will see logo windows in place of custom, genuine or none in place of custom, and white left nav in place of custom.

I tried to add the UI files to the shellstyle but it didn't do anything. He's using the shellstyle from RS2 probably with some custom UI files added. Try yourself to confirm if it works or not. You need a RS2 shellstyle.dll.

I will try later, I couldn't find this thread for some time.
