How do I install icons in Win10

I have windows 10 anniversary x64 edition and have installed Mr Blacks windows black edition green (looks great with the free classic start menu 'classic skin' rather than the paid startisback)

I have downloaded the icon pack full_glass_green.7z which i would like to use.

I have tried many searches in google and here and get confusing answers - win 7tsp and ipack I am unsure if they will work? to manually changing each icon.

Could some-one point me to a working guide/solution?

vanticar (http://virtualcustoms.net/member.php/311915-vanticar) first not the way to ask for help. if you had done any research you would know the owner of this forum helped create startisback. second if you had done any real searching of the threads here you would have already found 7tsp and a tutorial on using it. third that particular icon pack i doubt works with 10. and lastly icon packs are slowly be switched from 7tsp to ipack, which a tutorial is also posted on here.

having searched for 'ipack tutorial' or '7tsp tutorial' and also 'install icons in windows 10' within the search box on this forum gives no results so i would say that is/was reasonable search parameters used before i asked for help.

Perhaps you could be a little more specific in your answer with what i should have typed within the forum search box? or indeed a working link, as well as an answer to the questions 'how do i install icons in windows 10'? and does either 7tsp / ipack ok to use for windows 10 : 1607 ?

vanticar (http://virtualcustoms.net/member.php/311915-vanticar) o.k. ipacks are pretty straight forward. just find one for your os and install. just make sure you have no other custom icon pack installed first(ipack or 7tsp pack). if you do you will need to uninstall that pack first and then do a restart. as for 7tsp you will need the app to be able to install the packs for it. i'll see if i can find the tut for it and post a link here. now on a side note if you are running a custom os with custom icons in the past i have not had to remove them to install a new pack.

7tsp doesn't work on windows 10. Have a look in the iPacks for W8.1/10 section. I have posted the Full Glass Green icon pack.

I always get the error message when running 8.1 packs on 10 "Sorry Windows Se7en only". It used to work on RTM but hasn't worked for me since. I don't see any point using 7tsp packs anymore regardless of OS though, iPacks are better due to ease of install/uninstall.

i agree the ipacks are better. i only used 7tsp because i wanted to test the dark token icons, and the only pack i had was the 7tsp pack. i had forgotten that gsw953 did a ipack version and i just now downloaded it.

I used all the res files except for the shell32.dll.res (windows 7 icons guessing this could cause problems from what i could read)

Problem:-

Icons for HDD are standard and unchanged, back to google and forum searches which priovided me with registary 'hacks' both of which did not work for me (reverted back to standard icons)

Having done this I then read Shemhamforash thread post reply, and now understanding icon.exe files (having used ipack) I uninstalled my currant windows 7 icons and applied hoping this would fix my HDD icon error:-

So thank you all for your help and themes/customisation and running this forum - so wish I had read the post about holding the 'cntrl' key down at boot when getting flashing screen after 'updating' to windows 10 1607 as I was running windows aero glass, I re-installed completely but it led me to MR Grimms post and here :)
