So I previously had my windows 10 lock screen disabled using this method:
https://answers.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/forum/windows_8-desktop/how-do-i-remove-the-lock-screen-in-windows-8/5c014274-dec8-47d7-a083-4d0c24bbbb17?auth=1

in Gpedit. But I had some issues with leaving an old custom theme installed and my computer would crash upon login in when I updated to RS1. Now even though the gpedit setting remains my lock screen refuses to be disabled. Is there any other way to turn it off, in regedit perhaps?

Also is there any way to change the win10 rs1 logon screen background where you enter your password? If possible I would like to make it solid black which I could do with either an image or a solid color. I previously tried using win10 logon background changer but it didn't work with th2 and as it hasn't been updated in forever I doubt it would work with rs1.

Thanks for taking the time to read and post anything helpful!

Try this http://winaero.com/blog/lockscreengone-an-app-to-disable-lock-screen-in-windows-10-anniversary-update/
Disable Lock Screen in Windows 10 Anniversary Update with LockScreenGone

Download the app using the following link:
Download LockScreenGone (https://drive.google.com/open?id=0ByXxjI18DZC5VE8xalJKSGJ3SXc)
Extract all the files from the ZIP archive to any folder you want. You will get the following files:http://winaero.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/extracted-files-600x350.png (http://winaero.com/blog/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/extracted-files.png)
Double click the Install.cmd file to apply the patch. It will modify the file "LogonController.dll" in your c:\windows\system32 folder. The original file will be backed up, so you can restore it if something goes wrong or if you decide to rollback the change.Note: you can run the Install.cmd file once again to undo the patch.
Restart Windows 10 (http://winaero.com/blog/all-ways-to-restart-and-shutdown-windows-10/) and you are done!

Worked great! And it even got rid of the awful logon picture and set it to a solid color, but sadly I'm not that fond of deep blue. Know any way to make the logon screen black or use an image?
