Recommended Prior to Applying Custom Themes

:bulletred: Create a Restore Point
:bulletred: Install Fonts included in the "Extras" folder
:bulletred: Apply System Metrics included in the "Extras" folder and logout or reboot
:bulletred: Install an iPack of your choice to change the system icons (check the Theme Extras section above for a link to the icons in the preview)!
:bulletred: Select the Theme's Start Menu and Taskbar in the StartIsBack++ configuration. If it's not a visible option to select the theme's start menu, apply your custom theme first!
:bulletred: Copy a Start Orb from the "Theme" folder to a new location, rename it, then open the StartIsBack++ configuration, click Add... select the Start Orb and click Apply.

I take no responsibility for anyone that bricks their system, use custom themes at your own risk!!

My computer just updated to Windows 10 version 1709. Are the skins here (particularly all the HUD ones) compatible with 1709?

Normally it's a stupid question and the answer should be no, but as I'm seeing "v. 1703-1709" on the forum before we get to "Mr.Grim" folder, it makes me think that maybe what's compatible with 1703 is also with 1709.
Anyway... are they compatible?

Themes for Creators Update 1703 should also work just as well on Fall Creators Update 1709. All of Shemhamforash's themes are completely up to date for that as well. As for MR GRiMs HUD Themes I currently don't see any reason for them not to. He keeps his themes updated fairly fast as well so they should already work with it.

Thank you. I wanted to be sure before I apply them so as not to break my windows again.
After the update I had the infinite login loop which I fixed by running command prompt on the Windows Repair and forcing windows to go safe mode, uninstalled all modifications and I could log in again - so I wasn't feeling like potentially going through it again :P

I can confirm that the HUD Machine Corp and HUD Launch and HUD Machine Green work perfectly on 1709 - so no reason to suspect others will be any different.
This is particularly interesting as you couldn't apply 1507 themes to 1511 windows, nor 1151 themes to 1607 nor 1607 to 1703 version, but you actually can install 1703 to 1709.

That's pretty dope ^^

Yep, there weren't very many changes between 1703 and 1709. The BIG changes that break themes apparently are likely going to happen a tad less often now, so themes will likely require less changing with each new build between the actual BIG updates.

I'm having a really weird issue where only my previously selected theme will load, so when I go to ANY others (I use HUD Machine Green Topshell) my theme just goes to the basic Windows 10 color scheme unless I go back to HUD Machine Green Topshell.

I've already uninstalled and reinstalled everything needed to get the themes to work too, just in case that would somehow fix the issue and nothing's changed. I would love to switch to this version of the HUD Machine series if I can get this figured out.

The way I got it to work last time, by changing the active theme in the old Personalization settings window. I have a copy of the themes folders in the system themes folder and that's how it worked for me with HUD Green, but only green topshell (as in the one called green topshell, not white or lite topshell) theme would apply last time. It's still the only one that will work and I've tried various others on this site for Windows 10, too.

In the \Windows\Resources\Themes folder I have this, and all works. Check to make sure you have all the files, and folders there. I have posted screenshots below.

Yeah, that's how I have mine too but only one of them works for some reason. I mean, one is better than none, I'm just not sure why.

EDIT: Huh ok, so after the update that just launched yesterday I tried again (deleted the folder and themed I'd added to the Themes resources folder and re-added them) and it's working. Now to wait for StartIsBack to update and I'm golden (pun not intended)! :D

Well, I'm a fan of your theme, unfortunately I'm having a problem with the background of the windows and the icons, I don't understand why.

I redid everything and it still does the same to me.

The rest works great (however impossible to save "no sound").

I had to remove the font on the taskbar because it made space with the squares etc.

How can I put the font I want?

Thanks for all the hard work and your feedback :)

Screenshot don't work :(
