Remove Icons on Taskbar ONLY?

I want to remove the icons on my taskbar only. I like having icons in windows explorer, but I want my taskbar to be all text, as in the blanked icon packs. Anyone have any suggestions? I feel like I should be able to edit the visual style to just... not display icons on the taskbar, but I'm really not sure.
